  1. I live in a small town in sw Missouri, the gas today is $3.21 per gallon.

  2. Well, there is a way to fix the gas issues. It is simple, really. Put some of the reserves into circulation, which would force OPEC to lower their prices, due to them not being able to compete with local prices of gasoline. Once that happens, we can just gradually fill up the reserve again. h**l, we have almost fifty years worth of the stuff at an expanded rate, not to mention centuries worth in Alaska. Lets not forget about all the oil shale that has a few more centuries worth stamped on it.

So, yes, it may get to five bucks before the government opens their eyes, but that doesn't mean I'm getting rid of my BMW 7 series because of it. In fact, it can be worse to buy a new small car then to stick with your gas guzzler.

  3. I'm sure it will sooner or later

  4. Yeah. It will only go down if we find an alternative fuel like find enough farmland to grow corn for ethenol, or out of our own waste products (like WM does), or harness wind and solar power.

  5. It's 10$ in U.K....So I do not see why not....Besides, I think we should be using alternitives now, instead of guzzling the rest of our fuel.

  6. No i doubt it. I was reading a magazine last week, and they said that there making air compressed cars, that will be available in 2010-2011 which runs off air. The good thing is...The price range is between 16$-20k$

  7. the price of gas will never go down over the long term

  8. Of course, tell me of one thing price you ever see goes down and sell cheaper. cigarret, beer, milk, bread, etc. It's the system!

  9. Gas will go down if people learn to not use it too much..more hybrids and smart cars are being used and they're thinking of making a law that charges higher taxes on large cars that consume too much gas...theyre also using coal and bacteria to make alternative fuel sources..but yea if we're no carefully or quick enough to prevent it, then YES it will definetely reach 5 dollars

  10. i went to a small car before gas broke 2.20 a gallon... and yes.  probably by next year.

while the price is dropping right now, the major factors in it's run up have not been alleviated.  the most important ones cannot be alleviated and will most likely be exasperated over the next few years.

the most important one is that the US is no longer the only major consumer in the world.  we can't dictate what our prices will be.  in 5 years China will consume more oil than the US does right now.  (the US # may go down) in 10 years India will pass the US as well.  neither of those countries are looking seriously at alternative fuels and no matter how much you reduce your consumption theirs will go up, world consumption will go up.  i lived in China 7 years ago.  there are 3.5x as many cars in China today as there were when i lived there.  7 more years, there will be twice as many cars in the China as there are in the US.  15 years ago China didn't have any 'interstate' quality roads.  today they are second only to the US in miles of 'interstate' quality roads in their country.  by the middle of next decade they will pass us in that too.

within 3 years the world will be consuming more oil than it can produce right now.  the only option becomes bidding wars (or real military ones) for resource rights.  that means higher prices for you.

problems in russia, iran, nigeria, all of which are major producing nations, are driving up prices.  unfortunately most of the world's oil is in unstable countries, so the price will always be volatile.

problems with the dollar.  right now the dollar trades at just over half what it did 8 years ago so the non American commodoties that you buy (oil) would have doubled in price even without outside factors.

problems with politics.  10 years ago our shortsighted politicians banned most new drilling saying it wouldn't help us for at least 10 years.  sure would be nice today wouldn't it?  well again our politicians are saying the same things...and guess what, 10 years from now it would be a nice thing too.

  11. Hellllllllllll yes. Actually, I'll move from my truck to a bike.

  12. I wouldnt be surprised if it did.

  13. no, i don't think it will get that far.

if anything, i think the price of gas will start to decrease.

  14. Try living in Europe, we pay at least twice that this side of the pond. Yes price rises are inevitable.

  15. It will eventually go up just like everything else.  I don't drive that much so the cost of gasoline is not a major issue with me.  I live pretty close to where I work so I'll probably keep my 2002 Ford Explorer which only has a little over 22,000 miles on it.  Incidentally, it already had 8400 on it when I bought it slightly used in 2002.

  16. It will eventually.

  17. Eventually, yes. That's why I got a car that  runs on natural gas (methane). 87 cents a gallon and cleaner for the environment, too. Sweet ride...check my source and see if one would work for you, too!

  18. unfortunately yes i think it will. i drive a motorcycle now though so that helps.

  19. it will goto $20 gal if USA attack IRAN

  20. no cuz now the price is going down
