  1. Yes, I do. The line between being a "human" and an" inhanced being" is growing thinner as time goes on.  It won't be just Genetics, but mechanical inhancements as well.

  2. lol

they are working on stem technology now .....

haev you not heard about designing your own baby...

okay it is not commerically available in the shops or via doctors..

but yes the tech is there, whether it gets used is social and political

  3. Its possible now but we as in humanity don't want it.

It may create a sense of togetherness say if we had clones and other genetically modified humans vs real natural humans who do you think would be sticking together.

It would probably open up a whole new can of worms for things such as racism, bigotry and similar things where you see real humans vs genetically modified humans

  4. Yeah. Strangely, I do. Actually, right now I am trying to genetically modify ants.

  5. I highly doubt it. Given the resistance (mostly from the religious right) to even such biological projects as stem cell research, it seems unlikely that they would look the other way as scientists played god with the genome.

  6. oh yes. i heard in the news that they are close to developing a new substitute for blood

  7. Of course. Since the discovery of the Human Genome, it has been known that in a not too distant future, genetic modifications will be done on new born babies to alter some problems that are psychological or physically rooted, preventing the development of future illnesses. Adult people could also modify their DNA curing all kind of illnesses. I remember reading that schizophrenia would be the first mental disease to be eradicated. I find all of this fassinating... to think that by genetically modified some chromosomes, Alzheimer's and even Cancer could be erradicated! Minor psychological problems like shyness and such. I wonder if this is the beginning of a new race, ‘the perfect human being’? This reminds me a lot of the movie ‘Gattaca’...

    Cheers! =)

  8. I personally believe it's a possibility and can very likely happen in the near future. You don't need to be a genius to figure out how to do it. The biology texts you find in your school library, will clearly outline the genetic makeup of human beings and they will also tell you how vegetables and fruits are genetically altered to be more productive. All you've got to do is to add these two into your equation and you got the formula for creating the perfect human being.

Also keep in mind that, scientists have successfully cloned different kinds of animals and it's a pretty easy step from cloning a more productive cow to genetically manufacture a human being.

        Hope I helped!
