well yes in one way and no in the other. yes because the way we are trating our earth cant be good, also it isn't natural. it is killing animals, we should switch to eat veggitarian(one person being a veggitarian is equal to 15 people driving a hybrid). no baecause the eath is always changing, this could just be a change, like how the earth went into a ice age, this could be the beggining or an heat age. it is really up to you to dicide

No, global warming is NOT a serious problem. Climate has always been in a certain state of flux, sometimes getting warmer, sometimes getting cooler. All of this with little, if any, influence from humans.

Those who claim it is a serious problem seem to have a political agenda, as it's usually the same bunch who have advocated larger, more totalitarian government and a socialist/communist economic system.

yes it is. because in the top of earth is where the ozone stays. the ozone was thicker before. but now its thinner and has holes. do you know why?its the causing of polution. for example: the smoke from the factory, the smoke from the boat, car, motorcycle, also when people smoke, and throwing rubbish to the river, lake, or the sea (then it gets smelly). thats what causes global warming. if the ozone finishes, the sun will be straight to our skin. but if the ozone is still thick we get the sun not straight away.

Yes. It depends... well its not gonna cause any serious problems  in 5-10 years, but i may be very serious in 50-100 years. First of all its gonna change the climate => changes in ecosystem=> many living organisms will die.  And by the way scientists agree with what can global warming cause, they argue about what is cause of global warming- human or nature?

i don't think it's an extinction level problem, or even a serious threat to civilisation... not on the scale of global thermonuclear war, for instance. i suspect it will make things darned uncomfortable though, and it is avoidable, so it would be silly to do nothing about it.

Dana1981, no real scientists agree with you. One out of 528 peer reviewed papers by leading climatologists says that we are headed for a catastophe. JUST ONE. Besides humans went through the last major ice age, where global temperatures dropped over 10 degrees. I think we can pull through...

If u want the reasons why: Global warming and cooling are long term cyclical phenomena. We have passed thro ice ages and warming phases in the past too. The epochal difference NOW is that we have technology to mediate and moderate the ill effects of such climate change. It is accelerated by the excessive use of carbonaceous fuels in the "advanced" countries. It is up to them to exercise moderation. The "developing" countries have also roles to play, but they should be consistent with the aspirations of their people to a slightly better life, especially food security.
