  1. yes

  2. Mother nature killed off Dinosaurs, Mother nature will kill you and me

  3. I honestly think some crazy islamic country is going to develop or get their hands on nuclear weapons and then blow up key countries or cities throughout the world.

Probababilities there are much higher than anything natural causing the end of the world.

  4. I believe that global warming is normal. The world is not static. It keeps on changing. You will find this out if you look though for example ice age, dinosaur era etc. If you are a christian, you can be assured that God is in control of nature all the time. Even if there really is a global warming, he shall protect you from it's effects. Pray and sleep soundly...

  5. The last time i checked the earth is still here. So how can it be "the end of the earth"

Yes global warming will effect the earth, but we can't really say how much and when it will happen. All we can do it predict and hope we are right.

  6. yes..global warming will cause the icebergs to melt and soon precipitate..with minimum amount of water, human beings will soon perish..plus, no one can tolerate the high temperature for it cant be afforded by our homeostasis..

  7. The earth itself remains regardless of what the warmings do to it.  Past warmings have occurred at times not explained by natural Milankovitch Cycles, and they were caused by CO2 emitted by massive volcanoes over thousands of years... greenhouse gas warming just like what we've measured for 100+ years now.  We're simply doing the job a lot faster.

As for the prospects for life, studies link carbon dioxide and methane to past climate changes that have caused the extinction of over 95% of all land and ocean species at the time:

Climate Model Links Warmer Temperatures to Permian Extinction

    http://www.physorg.com/news6003.html

"The CCSM indicated that ocean temperatures warmed significantly at higher latitudes because of rising atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas. The warmer temperatures reached a depth of about 10,000 feet (4,000 meters), interfering with the normal circulation process in which colder surface water descends, taking oxygen and nutrients deep into the ocean.

As a result, ocean waters became stratified with little oxygen, proving deadly to marine life. Because marine organisms were no longer removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, that, in turn, accelerated warming temperatures.

"The implication of our study is that elevated [carbon dioxide] is sufficient to lead to inhospitable conditions for marine life and excessively high temperatures over land would contribute to the demise of terrestrial life," the authors conclude.

We can see that this happened in the past due to elevated carbon levels.  All indications are that we're doing an effective job at accelerating the global climate towards that "dead zone" state at a record rate.

Essentially all major human societies and cultures have disappeared over time, often due to their own resource depletion.  We have proven not to have developed the intelligence and self control to prevent our own demise.  We're simply bringing a lot of the planet's species down with us this time.

Those of us that rely on water coming out of a fawcet, the presence of centralized global social systems (such as monetary systems), transportation and stocked grocery stores, intact electrical power grids and manufactured clothes, may not fare so well.  Of course few scientists are willing to point that out yet because it might prevent people from trying to stop or mitigate the damage and increase our odds.

Some human cultures that are experts at living off the land, are willing and flexible enough to migrate as needed, and don't mind eating a lot of fungus while the rest of the dead material on the planet decomposes could conceivably survive for a while, but in our arrogance we have allowed few of those cultures to remain intact.

  8. Along with global warming, man is going to wipe himself out with the silly wars.

  9. every species that ever existed has eventualy reached extinction.....humans are no exception..some take longer than others ...BUT in the end it comes to all!!

  10. ....as we know it.

  11. if you want to know how the earth will come to it's end then read Revelations.

  12. global warming is not the reason for an "earth end".  global warming is the symptom, not the cause.  thoreau said there are many striking at the branches and only one striking at the root of all evil.

the root of global warming is humans.

therefore, the cause of earth end is humans.

its time we take accountablility and responsibility for ourselves and stop blaming everything else.

  13. Unless you mean the global warming that will occur in 1-2 billion years when the expanding sun swallows the Earth, the answer is no.

  14. No it won't.

PS kid, global warming is a marketing trick. Fear and consumption, fear and consumption...

  15. No way will it be the end of either Man or Earth.  Man is tough and the Earth is even tougher.

But it will be very unpleasant if we do nothing about it.

It won't be a Hollywood movie style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them.

Most scientists say, in 20-50 years. But we need to start right now to fix it, fixing it will take even longer than that.
