Or do you view it as something you personally will not have to live through, but that later generations will have to suffer through?

  1. No, but the global warming myth will make us all suffer.

  2. Either way it still makes sense to make some changes. We're really out of control on our wastefulness and disregard for the planet.

  3. global warming is a myth !!!!!!!.....ur r all being fooled because the tv said so !!..its all lies!!

  4. No not much in our lifetime, our scientist will develop alternative for the problems created by gw and if not our genx will suffer serious hazards and they will adopt the condition  later on.

  5. Global warming is already effecting me with the ridiculous prices for petrol, food rices going up, airfares going up.

We need an alternative to oil regardless is people want to believe it is a myth or not. My pocket is hurtin' bad.

  6. No to all the above.

I think global warming is naturally occuring and humans will adapt just as we adapted to the Little Ice age, the medieval warm period, and the glaciers.

  7. they Just want my wallet. There is no Glogal warming problems

  8. I am not nearly as worried about global warming as I am about global warming prevention.

  9. What people need to realize is that 'global warming' or more appropriately, 'climate change' is a reality.

Although the Earth has gone through climate changes in the past, they have never occurred at such an alarming speed that it is happening now. The IPCC estimates that the average global temperature will rise about 5.8 degrees C (thats more that 10 degrees F for all the Americans). Those are the projections for the next 50 years. Just for comparison, the last time the earth was that hot was the start of the Eocene era. when the earth had be gradually heating for millions of years due to Carbon Dioxide released from volcanic activity.

So to answer the  question, will global warming affect me in my lifetime. The answer is yes, as a high school student i am seriously alarmed by many Americans utter lack of concern and even blatant denial. (one of George Bush's advisers recently expressed the view that we may be able to double the atmospheric concentration of CO2, perhaps even triple or quadruple it, without changing the climate. Physics and chemistry work differently on his planet.)

Thankfully in other countries people and  their governments are thinking about the furture.

  10. I think it is already affecting me.  The California wildfires have burned something like 600,000 acres in the last two weeks.  It was the same way in 2003 and 2007, when I had to evacuate my house.  It used to be that you could go decades without fires of that magnitude, now we're getting them on a regular basis.

I'm sure people all over the world are noticing changes already.

  11. It already has. I've had to endure the endless stream of hype and misinformation that has accompanied the biggest scam in human history. And I've suffered through Al Gore receiving a Nobel Prize for perpetrating that hoax.

  12. I'm more worried about global cooling and having to deal with ice up to my high pockets when the glaciers advance.

  13. yup, i Think all the disaster now is the effect of global warming, and fact. global warming is not man made it is natural.

  14. Yes. I just watched The story of oil production titled "Crude", and the drama of increased carbon dioxide in the earth has been taking a toll on the natural order of things for years.

  15. It already is affecting us and the young people are going to have to live through a problem we created! I am younger and am scared to grow up in a world as messed up as ours.......it's never to late to mend it but we can't fix it completley, the wound will always be there.

  16. Not much in my life.

  17. i do not think it will affect us, because it is not happening!  The world has gone through temperature changes all throughout time... and guess what.. the world is still turning!  But i do think that it is good that people are starting to think GREEN!

  18. It will not seriously impact my life, seeing as I have, if I'm lucky, another 20-25 years left.

And I couldn't care less what happens after I'm gone.

  19. I think Global warming is a scam. Polutions is a better topic to talk about since that is something we can control. People can't control the weather, but can control how much junk we throw or put in the air.

  20. Well....for all the crackpots who have decided to help out Big Oil by insisting that global warming is a "myth" - spend a summer in Montana.  I've lived here all my life which has been a long time now and I have never seen the forests burn like they do now.  The valleys are choked with smoke which you live in day after day - like living at the bottom of a furnace.

We got off SO lucky this year as we got more rain, but as we lose our National Forests to fire, it's going to continue to be a miserable time.  And National Forests burning up will make higher lumber costs - higher housing costs.

Yes - global warming is well demonstrated right here and now - and often in the summer here you want to die or run away.  And I hear it's even worse in California.

  21. I'll bet you that if you interview about 1 million people from different countries, people in developed countries would say "yes" and people in developing countries would say "no." Everyone is being affected. Kyoto says that developing countries do not have to anything, so people would say "no." In developed countries, Kyoto is taking away about 1-2% of their GDP so they can switch. In reality, oil is hurting most people.
