  1. Hamster leashes are new on the pet supply market, but they definitely aren’t a worthy contribution.  Hamsters aren’t made for leashes the way dogs are and suffer discomfort or pain while the leash is on.  For one, the leashes aren’t made nearly big enough for Syrian hamsters and it’s a struggle to get them on in the first place.  Once on, they squeeze the hamster’s neck, windpipe, and lungs.  Unless the leash fits very loosely, it’s advisable not to use them at all.  If you do choose to use a leash, be a follower rather than the leader, and go where your hamster wants to go, at its speed: do not yank on the leash or pull the hamster where you want it to go.  Use the leash only when necessary and for short periods of time.

    Hope this helped!

  2. The ball is best to let them run around in outside the cage especially if your not able to watch them at every second. BUT if you want a harness for a hamster use a shoelace. I've done that with the larger hamsters (not dwarfs they are too small). It's pretty simple to do. I don't have a picture of how I did it but the knot I used was a slip knot (I think) so I could adjust it easy. They didn't notice it at all & I walked them around the whole house xD which they loved!!!

  3. i think they only make iguana, guinea pig, and ferret harnesses. plus itd be veerrryyyy hard to get her in a harness b/c shes always moving. and when you do put on the harness, you might accidentally break her fragile bones. i had a frog once always wanted to hop, so i got an hoodie jawstring and make a little strechty comfortable harness for her. i wouldnt say she loved it, but she got a lot more excersize then she did in her tank.

  4. if you really want to be able to hold your hamster, then you need to work with it more! hold it more, pet it more, the more you work with it, the more it is going to trust you!

    hope i can help

  5. Kinda.

  6. i think the ball thing would be better :)

  7. well like every hamster doesn't stay still really just get like a container like a box or something or put it in a ball and let it run in the room but don't keep it in the box too long or it will dig out.

  8. try getting or making an enclosure, as long as she can't reach and pull herself out you are good.

Hamster Harnesses are okay, not too hard to put on a sleepy hamster, but if she is very active, then you are going to have a harder time. I have used one before, but the hamster chewed her way out...

I also have a hamster ball, I close off my bedroom and let the ball roam around freely. Mine comes with a stand as well so I will put it on my desk while doing portfolios and let the hamster run the wheel that way...

Even if you just get a high edged cardboard box that is a decent size and put some obstacles and part of it with mazes and food, then the hamster will enjoy it for at least an hour or two.

  9. it sounds very hard to put a hamster in a harness, and i wouldnt try. if she already doesnt trust you, i wouldnt try to put her in a harness, it will just get you farther away from her trust.
