Do you think he'll get more than 5 years?

My niece's boyfriend just got locked up last night. she was crying so much that i couldn't get enough info. She said that when she called him, his cousin answered and she said he was in jail because he went to someones house with a gun (an AK i think it was) threatening him with it and he had shot it. Gratefully he didn't harm no one, but they called the cops and they found him with the gun. His only 16 and very, very reckless, he gets so furious if someone even looks at my niece or says hi! he yells and screams makes a whole scene about it. He seriously needs anger management. All i want to know is how much years will they give him? Do you think he might get house arrest or probation? I want to know so i can calm my niece down, she hasn't ate,drank,or sleep, all she does is cry. I understand what she's going thru, i just don't know the right words to say to her. Her mother is a feen doesn't really give her that mother love you know? And I'm young, only 23. I'm just really confused about this.

Considering his age, he is a minor. Iff he wasn't a minor hes probably looking at 1-2 years, because no one was hurt. But he is, so maybe a few years in juvie with anger managment classes. GOOD LUCK!

I think that he will get prison time. And he should , we dont need people like him on the street. jail will be the best place for him. He needs to learn and understand that he is not top dog.

Based on what your saying, I would recommend your cousin find a real man instead of a scarred irresponsible little boy. It may hurt now but if she stays with him it will hurt for the rest of her life.
