I think they are following tradition.  The nominee helps the other candidates retire campaign debt.

EXACTLY! She couldn't manage the money in a primary campaign. I don't know how she expected to manage the country's finances. She was overconfident and expected to win after super tuesday. It's her fault she needs to pay it off herself.

No, but she's supposed to.  Maybe if things work out and Senator Obama gets the support he needs to win the election he'll be gentlemanly enough to pay it down for her.

She's not necessarily "using" Obama. Obama is voluntarily gathering resources to help her pay her debts. She's not twisting his arm. And clearly, the whole point is that she doesn't have the resources to pay her own debt, which is why she hasn't already done so.
