Do you think how you treat your animals somewhat reflects how you are going to treat your children?

That could be applied to any pet besides just a dog or cat. Me and my husband have a rabbit and we spoil her. We take tons of pictures of her. Everything she does if one of us sees it we yell for the other to come look how cute she is. And when she is a bad girl I yell at her and try to stop what she is doing and my husband rewards her right after and pets her or gives her a treat, that kind of makes me mad because I feel he is rewarding her for misbehaving.

And I know a lot of other peopole who act like this towards their pets. Do you think how you treat your pets somewhat reflects how you are going to treat your child or children? It is a serious question.

  1. I don't think so.... I absolutely hate every single animal that my family owns... but i'm a really caring and loving mother. I just don't like animals..

We have 5 dogs, 18 horses, 5 pigs, 2 cats, and 3 frogs... it's just annoying.

  2. Oh gosh I hope not!!!!  I have this odd thing of all the animals I take care of end up dead.  We are trying to teach my son about animals and proper care and have had small easy care animals.....fish, rodents etc......and they seem to last a couple months and then they die!  I obviously take way better care of my child thank goodness!!!!  I did have a dog growing up that lived to be old and happy so I think I am in luck with that at least!!!!

    Great ?!!!!!!

  3. I absolutely believe this. Life is life.

  4. I don't think so. I have pets and kids, and my kids get alot more say in life. My pets do what I say and stay home when I say and come with me when I say. My dog gets on my bed and if I wants space, I boot him off. With my kids I make many more allowances.

  5. No because I cant stand dogs. Our family had a dog growing up and I would not pay any attention to it. If it tried to l**k me or something I would tell my mom to get it away. On the other hand I absolutly love all kids. I am a teacher and I cry every year my kids move on to another grade. I was a preschool teacher before I had my teaching degree and loved that. I also have one child of my own and I am absoutly adore my child and give it so much love. On the other hand, I think animal abusers can grow up to be child abusers. When someone abuses animals that is just wrong.

  6. Yes,and it is a shame when you see how some kids get treated as well as animals. Some people are flat out abusers. This is the most thought provoking question I have seen in a long time. You should get 100 points for asking it.

  7. I do. I believe that how someone treats animals speaks volumes to their character.

  8. Yes, it is a fairly good predictor  . . . .

  9. I am not sure about the positive end of the spectrum, but I know that psychologists and police officers consider all animal abusers potential child abusers. Unfortunately, a lot of them do end up being child abusers.

As far as people who treat their animals well, it can go both ways. I have two dogs, two guinea pigs, and 4 gerbils, and they're absolutely spoiled. However, I hate kids, and I can't even stomach the idea of having them. I don't walk around yelling at other people's kids, but they truly annoy me.

A lot of childfree people love their pets, but don't care for kids.

There are also people who are great with animals and with kids because they're maternal/paternal and like taking care of all small living creatures
