  1. we're so use to them, in the future if they start to banish we could alter our dna to keep them.

  2. Thats if evolution did exist. There are alot of theories and nothing has been proven as yet.

  3. That depends. If we continue to use them, for things like picking up items and scratching, then we probably wont.

We lose things in evolution processes because we don't need them any more. People without fingernails due to accidents, etc, often say that they don't realise how much they need them until they lose them.

If that's the case then the only way we will lose them due to evolution will be if we eventually find a way not to need them any more.

  4. possible?  i would say VERY unlikely.  even if we had no use for them, and sexual selection dictated that these were undesirable traits, it would take quite some time...  i mean, if uselessness was the only factor in losing a trait amongst a species, then why do we still have wisdom teeth and an appendix?    i could potentially see us developing much less hair, but to have it altogether be deviod on our bodies...  i just don't know, but don't the aquatic mammals that have (albeit  rudimentary and minimal) hair?

i can't say it's impossible, cause i simply do not know.  but it's my understanding that such a possibility is exceedingly rare.

  5. I would say we human would not live that long because of the globle warming and other problem surround us

  6. My grandpa is very highly evolved because he has no hair at all

  7. Nope.  We're more likely to lose the big toenail, since it's deleterious (you know, it gets infected with fungus, becomes gangrenous... ewww).

  8. thats up to gawd!

  9. We also talked about this in biology.

I think we'll loose our hair, not too sure about nails though.

My teacher seems to think that we will also loose the ability to shiver, as the reason we shiver is to evlevate the hair and trap a layer of air to keep us insulated.

  10. No, because there are no environmental factors that selects against those  traits (would make them inefficient or give those with the trait a disadvantage) so there is no reason for humans to lose them.

  11. CORRECT ANSWER::

No, evolution is not simply the characteristics that make it easier for us to survive, but the traits that are sexually attractive. The survival of the fittest is just assuming that if you survive long enough you will increase your chances of mating to pass on your DNA. In our society, we choose who we have s*x with based on their looks, not that they are available to mate with like most animals.

SO it comes down to do you think most people will find hair and nails sexually attractive, the answer is most likely yes.

  12. No, go outside you need some air

  13. Surprised no one has mentioned sexual selection, one of the mechanisms that facilitates evolution:

If I was choosing a mate, I would probably prefer a woman with a lovely head of hair and nice fingernails, hence these traits are selected for, not against, in the human gene pool.

  14. No, natural selection will let us keep those 2 characteristics because they're necessary and makes life easier for us. For example, hair is useful when its cold as it protects your head from cold temperatures and fingernails are needed for many things we do in everyday life.

  15. I have to completely agree with Dub and Dave M up here.

I believe, and I think the facts agree with me and a bunch of other people that happen to find attractive people with some sort of hair in their heads, that we will never lose any of those two things, albeit not for genetic reasons, since there might be an environmental factor that could lead us to lose hair (including contamination and the like) at a short age, but otherwise, I am almost sure that it will never happen

This matter is like the tail of the male peacock, it has no use for it, and it actually represents a risk for the animal to have such a long and obstructive tail, but, since women happen to find it appealing, they keep it

And that is life, some things happen because they have a good, functional reason to, while others, well, simply because they are pretty to look at
