With all the natural disasters, splintering of power and nations, and distribution of nuclear technology, as well as the ability of advancing technology in general to amplify human's inherent violence, is it likely we will see 2100? I am assuming 2012 is nothing and the apocalypse is delayed/ not happening.

  1. Globalization is huge factor now for humanity. National economies are now intertwined in the global economy that a world war, let alone a world war with nuclear weapons, would seem unlikely because if one part of the global economy is damaged the rest of it will be do, which hurts everyone.

A recent report has shown that a part from the war in Iraq, terrorist acts have dropped worldwide in 2007, showing that al-qaeda is on the defensive.

Since the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings in 1945, there have been no nuclear attacks, and I doubt that any country would do one without knowing that the rest of world will take them down.

The only true problem I can see hindering humanity's progress is global warming. If we keep with what we are doing, civilization is doomed. But with rising gas prices even the USA now understands that we have to move to alternative fuels.

I think we will make it out of the 21st century. Don't be scared. Governments (like the one of George Bush) want to frighten the public so they will give into the demands of the ruling elite.  Always question whatever you hear and see. go do research on topics before making a decision. And do your best to make the world a better place. Be nice to people who are different and be more eco-friendly. Every little bit helps.

Most likely you will be dead before the end of the 21st century so why does it matter to you?

  2. what do you mean,,,make it out of the 21st century.....I'm shocked that  humanity  made it to  the 21st century.....what is it with the [2012].....look back at new years eve 1999...at 00:59.59 nothing happened ...everybody was going nuts buying food, generates, medical supplies, all because the new year was going to be the year 2000 {Y2K}, BIG DILL,.... so what ever happens, in the year 2012 will happen nothing we can do about it ....and most of us that is old enough to read wont be around to see the year 2100....so why worry about it .......GET OVER IT PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Dude all that we are told is BS, we made it many million years ago (homo sapiens). Now humans are much more advanced and will not allow extinction happen.

  4. the government, religions, organizations use fear to make you a better person.

think about it-- jail, h**l, poverty, guilt

humanity lives and dies- thats its. dont let ppl control everything you believe. or you will live in fear. now does that really sound fun?

  5. anythings possible

  6. I would bet that we do. There have been preachers of doom all through history, and there have been worse times than the current one.

  7. If you kill all non-nerd, geek, hacker and weirdo white people, sure.

If you don't kill them though I doubt it.

Hey man; "strong" "manly" white people seem to live for war, and they will not stop until everyone is dead, or they are.

    Arabs are very similar.

Just kill them off, and our problems will be gone.  It is even written in the bible "the meek shall inherit the earth."

Nerds will triumph in the end.

  8. The more people there are, the harder it is to end humanity. If we continue to reproduce at the same rate I think we will easily make it to 2100. With the horrible misuse of power there is a good chance a nuclear war could take out a large portion of the world, but not everyone.

  9. Though our civilization is going through a lot of changes, we'll still be around for the next century--hopefully a little wiser than we are now.

  10. but now since that we are more advanced we have atomic bombs , and all that craziness,,,but i believe that anything is possible,,so it is possible that we can all die tomorrow or 2012 nobody knows or ever will,,,

  11. I'd bet good money that every group throughout pre-recorded history through today has thought they would live to see the end of times. it's almost like they WANT to see the end, or think they have some esoteric knowledge as to the fate of humankind. I think it's bull and I think humans will be around for a looong time ine some form or another. Just think, the dinosaurs were so successful as to live for over 100s of millions of years, and groups of animals before the dinos did too. To believe in the idea of humanity dying all over the world forever is not giving enough credit to our place in the universe.

  12. I won't, so it is a moot point.
