  1. Early Modern Humans most likely caused the disappearance of Homo Neanderthalensis, by interbreeding with them...

  2. it didn't happen in a week - probably the Homo Sapiens  pushed out the Neanderthals from the prime hunting grounds and maybe interbred - every community needs a critical mass to survive

  3. We killed off the males and used the females as slaves for whatever, s*x, fetching and carrying, cooking, etc. As we could not breed with them they would have died out. Although when I look at some people closely, I sometimes have my doubts about that. Ha ha.

  4. I believe that modern humans inherited the Earth from the other hominids because of warfare.  We practiced it to gain territory and expand.  It caused our societies to greatly expand as the competition forced larger and larger groups to cooperated to win in competition for space.  Imagine a more organized group of moderns with several hundred warriors whose job was to expand territory.  Neanderthals couldn't compete with that sort of pressure and were completely marginalize and died out.

  5. Most likely ate them.

  6. We won't know for sure but it looks that way.  They would have been killed off in wars.  Humans are more intelligent.

  7. to answer your questions, i wouldn't say that humans killed them off as much as they "outlived" them.  that is one point that darwin made, humans were a little more intelligent, which amde them able to adapt to their environment better.  there is not  a 100% answer, but basically it is believed that the neanderthals could not find a way to survive the harsh climate of the Ice Age. Homo sapiens found a way to survive, thus "outliving" their prime competition on the food chain...

  8. The was a DNA study which indicated they interbred.  The so called half breeds are very controversial but it would be surprising if there was zero interbreeding.  I suspect it wasn't significant.  Neanderthals were likely killed by H. sapiens.  I sure wouldn't want a powerful carniverous humanoid living in my neck of the woods.  It would be dangerous for your children.  When times are tough and let's say that a group of Neanderthals made a kill of a large animal.  It seems obvious to me that the H. sapiens would attempt to take it away and based on their probable greater speed and greater technology, they could and probably did.  This left the Neanderthals in the less desirable areas.  The climates changed and they became less adapted to the available habitats and died out

  9. I think, and agree that homo sapiens interbred with Neanderthals. Our dominant genes eventually caused the extinction, as we know it, of the Neanderthals.

I think that every once in a while, the neanderthal genes become dominant and we see those features in people.
