  1. yess, just make sure you have enough money too buy everything that comes with a horse like vet bill and the farrier expenses, plus brushes, sprays and other fun accessories!

    hope I helped...please best answer!

  2. Yes, if you have enough money to support the horse.,

i to am looking for my first horse and am going to board at my friends house which is 20 mins away.\

For a first horse id suggest a gelding, they are easier to control.

my trainer wont let me get a mare. =(

  3. yeah i think you can if you have the knowledge and money for one.

i live in mi too.. i live around grand rapids so if you live around there.. lemme know and i can give you my barns website

  4. You should be able to get a horse if you can afford it and have enough room. You could board the horse it would most likely be happy if the people are nice.

  5. More details.

    You should have

    Lessons

    Enough money

    TIme

If no lessons then atleast know someone with some type of experience

Theres more to the few words i wrote. But one most important thing is money and time. If you dont have enough money then you wont be able to take care of it properly. with the money for food, tack, any other supplies, the horse bills "oh the horse bills, dont get me started!" You never know what could happen , and your bill will be ooohh so high!

And you really need time, for cleaning stalls , riding it and basically bonding..

And lessons/ experience. you must know how to groom, tack up [if riding], clean stalls , clean the hooves,  and actual riding,

And , if you dont know the difference between say a western saddle and english saddle, or even the different between a male and a female, then your not ready just yet.

But that wasnt your questions, you questions was if you can get a horse, yes you can. But you may need your parents permission depending on your age.

So anyone can get a horse with consent but that doesnt mean that they should or that they will be good at it. It doesnt even mean your ready .

  6. I can not really answer you have not given enough info, sorry but good luck! But i would say yes!

  7. yup just don't forget to keep prices in range!

  8. ya but to you know how to ride and take care of a horse

  9. It sounds like it. Make sure you have enough money though. First of all you have to pay for the rising cost of grain and the lower price of hay. So it may be better to get a younger horse so it doesn't have special needs and needs special senior grain/vitamins/supplements. Be sure the horse is healthy and get a vet to check it out before you buy it and ask LOTS of questions. Also there is the cost of farrier and vet which shouldn't be too much if the horse is healthy and most horses can go without shoes unless you ride them on a road, (not gravel, asphalt but asphalt is hard on their hooves so don't go galloping on the gravel!) or if they have hoof problems. Also you need to be able to buy your horse grooming supplies, treats (though not neccesary it helps your horse love you more!), and tack. These websites are awesome to find stuff for your horse! Good Luck! www.horse-loverz.com, www.smithbrothers.com and www.doversaddlery.com

  10. Depending on where you live it can cost anywhere from 8-15 thousand a year to care for a horse. You have to consider the cost of the horse + pre-purchase. Averaged farrier and vet bills per month and insurance if you have it. Also there is the cost for electric, water, hay and grain. Shavings will also run you deep into your pockets. Try taking lessons where the horse is cared for and they have all the appropriate tack. You can learn so much!

  11. Yes you sure can get your own horse!

Does your Aunty have horses already? If so she may be happy for you to ride one of hers. My neice and I share my hack, it works out so well.

    Happy horse hunting!!!

  12. Yep defo, but make sure your responsible and have enough money good luck!

    I really want a horse too!lol

  13. Well ask your self these questions:

Do I have the money or ability to provide hay, straw, oats and vitamins for the horse?

Do I have the money for tack - bridles and saddles are expensive?

Do I have the money to call a Farrier when my horse needs new shoes?

Do i have the money to pay for the 2 to 4 vet visits that are required each year?

Do I have the money to buy a horse?

If you cant answer yes to each question then you should not have a horse - its ok if your parents will pay but someone must do so in order for you to have a horse.
