Do you think i can run 1.5 miles in 9 min or under by.....?

July 13. Right now I am doing it around 12-13 min? What can I do to get my time lower?

  1. the best to do is practice, leg presses to make calfs stronger so u can go faster, eat healthy so u wont feel bad.

    my time in a mile was 5.14 in high school my junior year

  3. yea its gonna be tough but possible

    what you want to do is keep a running log. every day you have got to run and record what you did. i know its tough to get yourself out there and running every day in the summer but you have to do it. keep your eyes on the prize. it soesnt really matter how long you can run. just about anyone can jog around for extended periods of time. what you want to do is start out running for 20 mins every day for one week hard. than push it to 30, then 40, then 45. About a week before you race do one all out 1.5 before your run. note your time (hopefull its close to 9 minutes at this point) than rest and go on your normal run. just keep in mind how bad you want this and remember you CAN do this.

  4. I would say no. But anything is possible if you put my mind to it. So if your determined, really determined id say yes. You need to work on your endurance so you need distance runs.. since your training for 1.5 miles id say the most you sohuld train is 4 miles. And you need speed so speed work to. I would say get about 10-15 miles a week, running everyday..and doubling atleast one day with distance in the morning and speed in the afternoon. Running more than that would only help more though..good luck

    also, run more.. like 2 miles, so you can be ready for more and not get as tired.

  7. Increase the distance to 5 miles. Then when you run 1.5 it will feels like nothing. and yes you can, I know you can.
