well i live in the suburbs outside boston...and i would love to go into boston to go vintage shopping..however my parents are always working so they cant bring me. So do you think my mom would let me and my two friends take the train into boston alone go shopping and then take the train back home. we are 15 but i feel like we are responsible and mature. we would just get dropped off at the train station, take the train, walk 2 blocks to the store we want to go to, shop, walk 2 blocks back to the train station, take the train home. ive taken the train before( with an adult) and i know how it works. and i also know that kids in the city take the train/subway all the time. Despite all this i feel as though my mom will immediately put down this idea the minute i bring it up.

so what are you guys thoughts? Do you think this is a reasonable request? Do you think we are too young?

  1. You should be able to, but I guess a lot depends on how mature your mother perceives you to be! When I was twelve I travelled by train all over England to watch soccer. That was a few years ago, so I guess to do it nowadays would be dangerous.

As you are not going to be alone, check her out and see if she will let you.

    Good Luck!!!!

  2. You could take the Train but the Railroad might get upset when they find it missing.  I would suggest you take it later at night so at least you have a head start of a few hours before they discover it's gone.
