Do you think i have diabetes?or think i should get tested?

My name is Katie Marie i am 15 years old i am always hungry, my mouth is always dry which makes me thirsty, I'm over weight, my vision blurs from time to time, i always have to pee ,and diabetes run in my family. I have lost a little weight but i don't think it has to do with this?please help me I'm confused

Yes, you should get tested. You don't want to wait and risk causing further damage.

I have the same symptoms as you have.  I think I need to get tested also.  My dad is diabetic.

it sound like you may have diabetes. join the club lol. im 24 and i just found out 6 months ago. the only real way of knowing is to be checked. you could go to the school nurse? or if your family is supportive see if someone can get you a glucose meter or use someones if there is one in the house. check your blood sugar two hours after dinner and see where your at for a couple days. write down what ya get so you can discuss this with your doctor. i believe 70-100 is good. also think of other symtoms you may be having. when i found out i was diabetic i was getting headaches from low blood sugar. i actually gained weight before i started meds and lost weight from the meds. i worked ina how machine shop so i had no choice but to drink alot. it is summer so you do tend to dehydrate easily. you could simply need your eyes checked? as you get older your vision will tend to go lol. also a big thing with girls in our age range is the lack of iron and calcium in our diets. so sometimes a simple multivitamin does the trick.

You should be tested. You seem to know the symptoms. But the same symptoms could be something else too. You cant always tell you have diabetes by the symptoms. If you are dehydrated, you would be thirsty and could have blurred vision. You could be over weight cause you eat allot and dont get enough exercise. But get it checked out. And relax, there are allot of things to get better now on the market.

I would definitely get tested.

It's not for sure, but based on some of those symptoms and the fact that your family has a history of having diabetes, there's a pretty good chance that that is what it is.

Don't freak out or worry; just go in and get tested and take it from there.

GET CHECKED OUT ASAP  IF UR NOT THAT BAD U PROB HAVE TO START TAKIN PILLS FOR THE REST OF UR LIFE.. THE PILLS WILL HELP U REGULATE UR SUGAR AND U WILL HAVE TO GET A BLOOD/GLUCOSE METRE AND CHECK IT 3 OR TIMES A WEEK.. AND NO MORE REAL SUGAR... SUGARTWIN FOR NOW ON.. AND EAT MORE FRUITS.

you certainly have all the symptoms, it will be good if you could get tested, but I will like to know if you take any medication, or if you smoke, that could be the cause of the dryness in your mouth, being always hungry, could be a sign of depression, if you always have to pee, it depends how much liquids you put in your body, is a very simple test, go ahead and do it, go for a full check up, don't wait just go for it! I hope that you are fine and that you don't have anything wrong with you

definately worth getting checked out. It's just a simple fasting glucose test. Couldn't hurt.....

Tell your family and get tested. It will be better to know, than have something force the reality of it on you.

You have all the signs, find out. I have type II myself, so I know about it personally.

To save you a trip to the doctor which may be unnecessary, call a nurse helpline.

I do these ALL the time and might be able to tell you what to run out and get at the drug store :D

Must have saved me at least 5 trips to the doctor...which is at least $100! woot woot!

If you call them, they will be able to tell you whether you need to go in or not (to me it kinda sounds like ur problem iz allergies, because of the dry mouth and blurry vision, and maybe u hav a urine infection)

Get an appointment with your Dr. asap.  It sure sounds like Diabetes, and that is something you don't want to mess with.
