  1. yes but i suggest serpae tetras they are much prettier but thas fine.

  2. Black neon tetras make great pets. They are hardy and easy to take care of. They are schooling fish so it's great you are getting 6 of them. As far as algae eaters go, most of them get pretty big, so I'd go for a cory catfish. they only get to be about 1-2 inches long depending on what kind Panda cory cats are very cute: http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0S020r55KhIm....

  3. yes that sounds like a good idia to me

  4. Worst case scenario is you get them and they all die.

Best case scenario is you get them and they all live, becoming great pets that you love to have around.

I'd say go for it. Sounds like you're well prepared.

  5. Those fish should be good.

  6. I learned on this tv show that doesn't air anymore ( the pet guys ) that for every inch of fish, a gallon of water is needed.

    Good luck!

  7. otos would be a good algae eater. it grows about 2in or so and like to be in small groups.

  8. I would say no on those tetras.....they like a bigger tank like a 30 gallon because there a big tetra and a little aggressive and need room to swim in a bigger tank.

You might like a school of (6-8) rummy nosed as they school all the time even if there is no threat in the tank and are very pleasing to watch.

If your not getting algae i wouldn't add anyting but it's no big deal. You should get exactly 2 otto cats if you want. But you will have to feed them as a tank that size may not produce the algae they need.

    research them....

Or mix it up fish wise...

    A pair of ember tetras

3 rummy nosed or 5 endler livebearers (all male)

    a golden honey gourami

a male/ female pair of threadfin rainbows

no bottom fish.....or if you do 3-4 pigmy cory cats would zip around that tank all happy.

    Just some ideas and options.

    Good Luck!!!

  9. yay... FISH!!!  fishy fishy FISH!!!!!!!!!

  10. You would be fine with a school of tetra and maybe a set of 3 otto catfish. They are very small as well, maxing out at 1.5 inches. This is more than fine for a 10 gallon because tetra make very little waste. Just make sure to keep up with your weekly water changes and only get the tetra 3 at a time a week or so apart to allow the tank to adjust for the new bio-load. Other option would be a small school (3-4) of cory catfish, but they get much larger than ottos. Feel free to email with any other questions.
