I am wondering if i should get a horse or not.I am allergic to normal horses and have found some lovely hypoallergenic horses for sale.It has always been my dream to ride but due to my allergy it has being spoilt. My dad says he will look into getting me a horse and that he will get me 1 one day.I have never ridden b4 and i have heard that horses cost lots of money (money is not a problem but then again i don't want to be spending loads)friends say they will help me learn everything i need to know about how to take care of a horse and how to ride it.If i do get a horse i will be wanting to keep it for many years.I have looked after every animal under the sun from frogs to dogs:) so i know what is involved with taking care of an animal (i.e full commitment). So yeah like i says should i go for it?i need peoples advise because I'm not sure-yeah i'd love a horse I'm just not sure how i would cope as i have never had one b4-do you think i will be okay?

  1. If you've never been around horses, I'm sorry to say, that you are in no way ready to own one. Horses can be a real shock when you own one. They aren't the easiest animal to have (as you've heard). I would see if there is anyone near you that has a hypo-allergenic horse that you could work with. I have also seen another option; wearing a dustmask ang going around normal horses. You could try that as well.

  2. I would suggest not going for it. Or at least, volunteer at a horse farm for at least a year, or take riding lessons for at least a year before getting a horse. It'll let you know if you are really ready for the commitment, no matter what you think now. I don't think there is such thing as a hypoallergenic horse... though I am not for sure. They probably just shed less and so you would get less of the smell, etc.
