  1. Do the sr20det and then turbo it, that's what i'm doing anyways when i get  my 240 next year! :)

it's not a waste of money it's worth it, trust (:

  2. Engine size isn't as important as the efficiency of the engine when you're talking about a drop from 2.4 to 2.0. The 2.4 that is in the 240 is like a tractor engine when compared with a more advanced unit such as the SR20DET. Which means it is more tuneable and you'd get more power for the money you invest in it.

  3. no I would not tubo that motor... one has alot of miles, 2 it its internals are not set up for the added pressure... your compression will go way up with the turbo... If you want a turbo you need to rebuild your engine with proper parts, also do a lot of research on turbos, one your intake air charge will be very high, causing detination, so you will need to pull timing in the upper loads where the turbo comes in , also your fuel system will need to be upgraded to handle the amount of air being introduced to the engine.. also a natrually aspirated motor probably only hits about 80 percent load , with 15lbs of boost you would probably hit 160+ load so all your spark tables and fuel tables would need to be recalibrated... it is a very involved process when adding a power add such as a turbo or supercharger... the only way to get the engine to last is to do it correctly... and it becomes very very exspensive... a super charger or turbo is not a bolt on upgrade there is alot of other things that need to be done.. I would reccomend doing a lot of research before doing anything ... talk to some professional tuners first and get an idea... the car would need some sort of stand alone computer that you can make changes too... or a chip from a tunner would have to be burned off of a few dyno runs to get the car to run half way decent.. good luck have fun and be safe

  4. 125K  go easy unless you are made of money, this thing is frail
