  1. No.  He wouldn't be the 1st track star to try playing football.  They all tanked.

He is good at running 1 time in a straight line with no contact.  In football you run many plays, have to start/stop/change directions, all while probably being hit at some point.

  2. He would be awesome, just burn everyone and then catch it. I was wondering the same thing myself.

  3. some funny answers, esp. the one about showboating.

Usain Bolt is a machine.  Natural runner.  Football, however, is more than just running and catching.  He certainly has the height and speed for a reciever, but there are a lot more things that go into being a great football player, including route running, wr blocking, ball carrying, catching in traffic, etc.

It would be fun to see him on the gridiron though

  4. he can sure "showboat" like a overpaid underperforming WR.

  5. There's quite a difference between running freely and

having someone the likes of Roy Williams or the late Sean Taylor come crashing into you at full speed!

  6. Do you mean Usain Bolt?

  7. That experiment has been tried over and over with mostly poor results with other world class sprinters. Straight line sprinting is one thing, the nuances of football would make him mortal in a big hurry. Can he catch? Not likely at anywhere near the level of an NFL receiver. Can he run full speed while making cuts? Again not very likely, it takes a long time to develop the full speeding cutting skills of a top receiver. Can he take a big hit? Not likely, he hasnt had to take punishment to run in a straight line. Can he reshape his body to have the muscle groups needed for football activities? This could happen over time but it would be a process and without football strength how would he get off the line of scrimmage? This is a big problem for a lot of lesser receivers that have trained for a long time. Can he digest the playbook? Nobody knows that, he could be a very intelligent guy but to understand all that he needs to know without ever playing is a tough gig. Anything is possible and he could buck the odds, he is a world class athlete afterall but speed isnt the end all in football. If it were Hester and Cribbs would be All World WR, many of the games best receivers were not burners.

  8. Does he like contact? Does he like to hit and be hit? Those are the questions that have to be answered. Being able to run fast has nothing to do with playing football at the professional level. He could get seriously hurt.

  9. Maybe but why would he?He going to make alot more money running track then he ever would playing football.

  10. returning kicks why not you can teach speed thats were he can start some team with a plthora of wr that can take the time to develp him into a wr threat like the bears are doing with hester and browns with cribbs maybe he should sign with the chargers sounds like a perfect fit
