  1. all this over one incident? everyone has to put up with people they dont get on well with everyday...but you dont see people spewing hate like you..i suggest you get some professional help and work on controlling your anger..for your own good.

and you have no right to judge people who haven't been given all the privileges as you have

  2. pfft listen to yourself:

if you come to MY country, you have to learn MY language...

Um... so does that mean if you wanted to travel to, say, France, you'd spend a year learning French before you went there? Or before you went to the Indonesian embassy in Canberra, you'd learn how to speak indonesian before you went?

I agree with what you're saying, its annoying, but the way that you're vocalising about it is ridiculous.

  3. I think you are too stressed and you get very easily annoyed. It leads you to be a racist, even though you are probably not a racist "by nature" -I mean you haven't been brought up on racistic principles.

I am not a racist, even though I used to have some tendencies to be one in the past.

If you want to stop thinking you are a racist and acting like if you were one, you should relax and look for the positive side of multicultural societies.

  4. You are racist. And no,I am not racist. Every culture has their good and bad people. I don't judge anyone because of their "race",we are all one race, the human race.

Every culture has stupid, arrogant and lazy people, but that is life. No one is perfect.  I love everyone,no matter the nationality. If you respect me and treat me the way you want to be treated, then I have no problem with you.

God created us to look different for a reason. Honestly,if God created everyone to look the same, this world would be a boring place. Don't you think?

  5. When you, negatively, stereotype "nationalities" that is a racist attitude.

    Thanks for asking.

  6. I think that it's interesting that you rail on other people for their language skills, but do so writing your whole post in pidgin "internet" English (ie: no capitals, punctuation, or sentence structure).

It's not racist to believe that a particular taxi driver has bad body odour, is terrible at directions, or can't speak proper Enlgish.  It IS racist to believe that based on your experience with that one taxi driver that ALL Indians are smelly, directionally-challenged, or have poor English skills.

The best way that I've found to overcome your own personal stereotypes is to travel yourself to other countries and see how you do in those environments.  Once you see what life is like for an English-speaking person in India (much easier than life for an Indian over here, trust me), you'll have a better appreciation for the diversity of the world.

  7. There are annoying people of every nationality. Look at the white people who try to act black, that annoys me. I have had many family members who have done work for Indians, and all but one time ran into problems. They wanted freebies and thought they were entilted to more for less, I don't know why.

  8. As far as I am aware, most Indian taxi drivers in Australia are young international students who have to pay expensive tuition fees ($30,000 and beyond) and are limited by a 20-hr work week (one of my very close friends is your "indian" taxi driver in Melbourne). Many of them are qualified graduates but can't find work in their field because of institutionally racist system. This, in addition to stress related to academics as many of them come for Master's level courses in Engineering, Finance etc.

It's your government and Australian universities which come to India to find prospective students because they bring a lot of money to their departments. If Australia didn't court them, they would go elsewhere because Indian students are always in good demand in courses such as Engineering. Indian academic standards are among the toughest in the world - it is considered impossible for any Australian student to qualify for an Indian entrance examination in Engineering (called IIT's) because of rigorous selection criteria.

I also heard some of them were recently stabbed by drunken passengers who refuse to pay after a taxi-ride. One of them apparently got killed by racist junkies.

It's alright to feel prejudiced but you need to simultaneously show more empathy towards people who're working in blue collar professions such as plumbing, mechanical repair, taxi-driving etc.

    Good day.

And not all Indians work as taxi-drivers! I work in a reputed media firm and get along just fine with everyone including "Australians"

  9. That just sounds like a rant to me!  I got three things from your question.

    1.  You don't like indians.

    2.  You're most likely going to h**l.

    3.  Your grammer is terrible.

I don't think that makes you a racist.

  10. you sound racist to me.  your anger is directed at certain ethnic groups.  ALL ethnic groups have people in them who are less than desirable but that doesn't make them all bad people. it's called a stereotype.  from the sounds of it, i'm sure you wouldn't like the blanket statement "aussies are racist, uncaring people."  i know that's not true but if everyone thought the way you did, it could be.

sounds as if you have some anger issues too.

myself, no, i am not a racist.  i try to see good in all people.

  11. I am so sorry that you can only see a negative stereotype of these people. No I don't think you are racist. Just a pessimist. But I do know a lot of people who have the same views as you.

Try learning a new language, it's hard, then think how hard it is to learn about the culture, and slang.

PS I'm not racist my boyfriend is partly black.

  12. Hi Jessica,

I take it you are from Australia?

First know the difference between nationalism and racism.

Racism is the belief that one race is superior to another. Nationalism is the belief that one nationality is better than another.

My advice if you are either (which many of us are) is, don't waste your time. Whether you're right or wrong, life is too short to worry about stuff like this. Get on with your life and enjoy yourself. Don't follow people who preach racism as they do it mostly out of self hatred and bitterness which will lead you to downward spiral.

  13. wow I wrote any question something like this last week and got blasted for it.But no I don't think that you are a racist, just saying the truth .No one whats to hear the truth anymore because it isn't PC but don't lump all people into one category because there is a lot of good people in every race.

  14. OK, here's how i see it.

If you hate stupid, lazy, annoying, ignorant, arrogant people, WHATEVER their race/colour, that's fair enough, you're not a racist.

If you think these people are stupid, lazy etc etc BECAUSE of their race?colour, then that makes you a racist
