I dont mean to sound big headed or anything, and i hope no one takes this the wrong way, but im really like doing stuff like drawing, writing and acting, and loads of people have said im very good at all these things. I want to use all of these as a career, and as none of them individually are good financially speaking, i plan on doing them all at the same time, and if possible have a small job in between. but tht's not what im talking about really. Really, ive tried really hard to get each one started, i went in for an audition for Narnia 3, and it went well, but i never heard anything after. I want to go in for doctor who, but no matter what i try dfor anything, i cant do it to save my life. do you think im just wasting my life on some pathetic hope that i can be somethign different?

  1. I wouldn't say you are waisting life, but more or less taking a wrong approach at what you want. Start a little smaller.

You like writing and drawing, so start writing what ever it is you love to write, but don't expect it to be a published book the next day. That's going to a long process. As for you you're interested in drawing. If you don't have a Deviant art then get one. [deviantart.com]. It's a good way to exposes your art work to a community of artists. deviant art also offers a print program that allows you to sell prints of your work. It's the not the best money, but it's a good way to get started, and it will put a little extra cash in your pocket. You can also use deviant art to post writing you have done.

When it comes to acting, do the same. Take small steps. If you really like acting, the join some type of acting group in your community. Don't expect to be a lead role in a movie the next day. I have a friend who was cast in a movie not long ago as a lead role, but the movie was done by a local production company, and the finished movie was shown in one theater, for a short period of time. I know the doesn't sound too exhilarating, but it's a start for her, and could be a good start for you.

It takes time to get where you want to be.

Also if you've yet to, go to college.

  2. Money is not the most important thing in the world! You can make good money from those things you just have to be really good.

  3. Dreams are never a waste of time.  Why dont you concentrate on just one talent like your acting? You may need to take acting classes to perfect your skills.   Good luck.

  4. No, you don't. Go for it.

  5. may be yes

  6. Being creative can make you lots of money, if you're good.

Try going to an arts school, or drama class.

  7. No your not wasting time trying to go after what you want, if this is what you choose to do then go for it, get training from some kind of school, then work at it, keep going to auditions, keep drawing and writing and try to get your work out their for everyone to see. Its never a waste of time when you go after your hearts desire, I wish you all the luck in the world to achieve your goals, set them high and go after them.

  8. I think we all are..

  9. Do you get discouraged easily?  If so, your problem isn't your talent, but your motivation and determination.  Look into why you get discouraged.  Do you have people telling you you won't make it in any of those fields?  I had the same problem when I started acting at age 8.  I'm now 24 and working on commercials, was in the new Batman (as an extra, not THAT big yet! lol), also independent films playing the festival circuit.  My father told me it was a waste of time, he knew many actors that have failed, etc etc.  If you can channel out the negativity and do whatever makes you the happiest, you will find success no matter what.

I wish you luck in your endeavors.

  10. Yo, you only have ONE life, do you want to waste it on doing something you dont like and find it boring? come on, no matter what anyone thinks, you dont actually have to care because, they are not you, they dont have the right to choose. Maybe you could write a book, be its illustrator too, and when a movie version comes out, you could act in it. Who said you cant make any money? Good Luck!
