  1. rationing more than likely in any number of areas

    gas ,water, even other staples.

  2. yes .. if the food riots don't happen soon the water riots will.

  3. ya,absoluetly right.we see restriction now  in Pakistan at present. We sholud conserve natural resources in a very sustainable way.

  4. Yes, I'm certain that it will be.

  5. yes! because lot of country is dumping there waste water at the sea. mountain are creating dump site that will contaminate the under ground river that we use to drink.

  6. Why not? It has been in the past. Don't you remember last summer, when Atlanta was so short of water? The water police were ticketing people who watered their lawns.

  7. "In the future?"  Where do you live?  I grew up in the rainy Pacific Northwest....with water restrictions from time to time.

I currently live in Idaho, in the very heartland of potato country.  This is high mountain desert area.  There are a LOT of water restrictions here.

Where I grew up in Washington, it rained much more often that it was sunny.  If you were on city water, and went over a set amount of water for your household, it was EASY to have your water bill double, tripple, or even quadruple, because they charge MUCH higher rates for any water used above and beyond the water companies set rates.

My guess is that where you live there are already water restrictions.  However you are probably too young to be paying the bills, so do not yet kow about them.

You say your Mom is wasteful with water.  Tell her you would like to sit down and have a talk with her some time, no distractions, just the two of you.  Express to her that you are concerned about fresh water being available, or even just downright ultra expensive in YOUR future.  Tell her you would really like for both of you to be involved in water conservation efforts in your house.

Start with something easy.  If you have a bathroom (specially one your Mom uses a lot) and that bathroom has a windown, get a nice plant for that bathroom.  Ask your Mom to get in the habbit of dumping partial glasses of water that were not used when she brushed her teeth, into the plant (get a water loving plant).

If your Mom just blows you off, give her something to think about (don't yell this in anger, just say it in a normal tone), "Mom, I'm 15 years old now.  I will be a legal adult in 3 years.  It's not right for you to not be taking some of my adult life fears and concerns serriously, and not to allow me to begin to start making choices and thinking like I'm an adult.  I don't feel I should wait until I'm 18 to suddenly stop being a child."

  9. I would think it would be done the natural way and the price f water will go up and people would try to save on money buy not wasting so much water

We do waste alot of water.  In either Hong Kong or SIngapore, tehy use saltwater on toilets.   I am waiting for Cities to start requiring new developments to have seperate pipes to  use  grey water for toilets.

  10. Rationing comes in different forms.  You might be charged a certain rate for what your water company feels is an appropriate allotment, but pay signifcantly more for water used past that point, maybe even a 3rd tier beyond that for gross misuse of water.

If that kind of restriction doesn't curtail water use, sometimes cities will restrict lawn watering or other uses deemed non-essential.

I think we're a long ways off from rationing, but there are areas where this could be implemented sooner than later, and almost undoubtedly areas worldwide where rationing is already the norm.  Water availability is going to cause some ugliness in the future.  We'll see fewer and fewer green lawns up and down American streets and more xeriscaped yards.  So I believe that for the most part, conservation measures and prudent planning by water companies can prevent rationing.  But it will happen.

  11. Depends on which country you are in.

Eventually yes it will have water restrictions.

  12. Experts believe that in future there will be wars purely for access of water.

This is basically due to depletion of water sources.

  13. We already have water restrictions in Australia
