I don't say I agree or disagree with the article, just that I would like answers.

  1. I do not. This is America and your religious beliefs or lack of should not have anything to do with your ability to run this country. In case no one has noticed, the religious right had their chance and blew it.

  2. yes. The USA and England were constitutionalised as a christian country and until the time that the muslim religion,or any other, is dominant it should stay that way. Remember Enoch.??  God what a thought that London parks could one day be hosting whippings, and torture in the name of religion. I expect I will now get thumbs down. Besta luck then

  3. What has religion got to do with it?Surely,it is whether that person can do the job to a very high standard.

  4. Umm no, I think its horrible and pathetic

  5. Actually, I think if a Atheist, and maybe a muslim were charismatic, atriculate and smart enough to convince people he's a good guy, he might have a shot at winning the election. Its difficult to predict though, considering how little the current candidates mention their religion should be a indicator that it isnt the biggest factor.

  6. Yes and no. If the nominee were atheist, then there is no reason that he should not be able to run for President. If you research Pat Tillman, a former NFL player that joined the Army Rangers after 9/11 and died in Afghanistan, then you would see why being Atheist should not exclude you from the Presidency. Now, on the other hand, if you are a muslim than yes, it's definitely a good thing that they are unelectable here.

Whether you admit it or not, we are at war with islam. The war on terror is in reality the war on islam. You guys over in Europe should realize that the muslims are taking over your continent. These are not educated, intelligent, good natured people that we are talking about. These are people following a "religion" that says it's ok to kill, rape, steal, and pretty much whatever else they feel like doing. For all of those that disagree, you're either muslim yourself, or you're too ignorant to realize that they all consider you an "infidel", and regardless of whether you support them and their "freedom of religion" they still hate your guts.

Now, is this all muslims? No, just like 98% to 99% of them. So if you wanna take a chance that the one you're voting into office is one of the exclusive 1% good muslim group, than hey, go ahead and try that elsewhere. Here in America we sort of like our freedom and I'm sure our women enjoy being able to go around wearing what they want without the fear of being stoned to death.

Finally, let's say that the muslim you vote into office really is a "good one". Don't you think that he's going to be, I don't know, a little partial to the muslim countries? That means that even if he himself doesn't fly planes into our World Trade Center towers, he may be just a little less enthusiastic in going to get the ones that did. End result, a much more dangerous world.

  7. And America has a constitution that guarantees freedom of thought and belief.

In reality, of course, bigotry will always overcome freedom.

  8. I believe there should be no law prohibiting them from running, and I believe the candidate's faith (including "none") should not factor in to a voter's decision.

  9. i don't think its a good thing. the best person for the job should get the job, regardless of race, religion and all the rest of it.

  10. no its not a good thing. It just shows the racism that still lives in this country.

Religion Affiliation should not matter in government politics

  11. Why then not to start with 40% of population and exclude all republicans from elections as being christians ?
