Do you think it's bad that i never get my brother anything for his birthday ?

I see so many questions on here asking what people should get for their brothers birthday !

I never get mine anything on his birthday. Not even a card.

Is that mean ?

Personally, i don't see a problem with it. He knows how much i love him and that so he knows i'm doing doing it to hurt him or anything.

my siblings and I don't exchange gifts either. But ever since we were little we have always tried to be the first to wish each other happy birthday. we are all in our late 20's and 30's and we still do it. My sister called me at 2AM on my last birthday, just so she could try to be the first. But we all have fun with it. Besides it's not about the gifts anyway, don't worry.

if he doesn't get you anything for your b'day , then you don't have to feel obliged to buy him a gift.

but giving a gift is such a personal thing . it gives you a chnce to express your love and concern for someone close to you. a greeting card helps you say things that you would never otherwise say.helps create a bond. helps make memories.giver feels good about giving some happiness and receiver feels cherished at being loved.

try it . you could start a tradition.

I do that sometimes too, but then I feel guilty so I  buy him something the next year. He doesn't let me forget.

I have bought my sister a gift every year, upto when we started having children.  Now its just a card.

Do you think it's bad? If not then the chances are he won't either (assuming he knows you well enough). Does he get you anything? If he does then it would be quite nice to reciprocate. And anyway, why don't you get him even a card? Are you very poor, lazy, have a bad memory? Just wondered.

He's your brother. Especially if he always gets you something.

Don't buy him a card and present, MAKE him something. That's far more meaningful. Anybody can go out to the shop, buy something that looks cool and wrap it up. However it takes a much more imaginative person to make something.

Like, I would be so hurt if my bro doesn't get me anything (or mum buys something and he says he bought it for me XD). He makes me cards :D

I always get everyone in the family something personal for birthdays and christmas.
