Some adults watch the news all the time and they are always negative and paranoid about everything. They think everything on the news is all the happens in the world...well almost!

Is the news really everything that happens and theirs nothing good in this world?

  1. I don't watch the local news at all, but I read a lot of World news (BBC). It's like an addiction, so too much news is bad for your productivity. But I didn't become paranoid, just more aware of the World, which is a good thing. Local news, on the other side, might get you paranoid about your surroundings, and they generally don't add much to your culture.

  2. Not at all - as long as you do not only watch the news on one channel, but see other channels, even with satellite other country's news broadcasts. The same applies to newspapers - spread the viewpoint - learn what others have to say.  Is that not one of the truly great advanatges of the net.

As a Brit, I am ashamed these days of the BBC. Their morning broadcasts are a farce. They would rather advertise some of their evening programmes than give any detailed insight into what is going on in other European countries, let alone countries on the other side of the world.  I am pleased I speak other languages so I can read what other countries have to say, rather than the spin the BBC wish to put on matters. The same applies to Sky and the Murdoch empire. Watch Rai, read Le Figaro  etc - some even print their articles in English these days.

I do feel and agree with you that there is a place for some lighthearted news rather than blues and gloom all day long. Its news - it should envelope everything going on in our world. How nice to have a news station - if at all possible - that just reported the facts, but we can dream for the impossible I guess.

  3. Imo, you should know what's going on in your country first - you can affect on that the most. About the news being depressing and making people paranoid - happy stories don't really sell, of course you'll see "gore" on tv/in the newspaper. Some of it is true, but we have a wrong picture about a lot of the rest ... so I guess the answer is deffinetly be in touch with what's going on and follow the news, BUT don't believe everything you see or hear! Discuss with others, research on your own.

  4. i personally like to watch the news. idk why adults go so over board

  5. i dont think it bad to read the news. its the only way to know whats going in this world
