Do you think it's fair how society views women and their appearances? Who's at fault for this?

On one hand, women who are smart, are easy to get along with, and are great communicators will be ignored if they're physically unattractive. Yet, her male counterpart isn't limited by his looks alone, and can get more physically attractive women, in spite of his appearance, because of his other traits - or, that's how the theory goes.

Yet, on the other hand, in history could get go up in the social ladder based on looks alone. Society is more willing to accept a woman's other short-comings if she's very pretty.

Currently, in Western society a woman isn't expected to only be pretty and nothing about her matters. Women can do more in life than just looking pretty and taking care of their children. They are also able to pursue the careers of their choice.

Yet, most people still expect men to support the family financially and not too many handsome men want to date ugly girls. Or, at least that's the stereotype.

Who's to blame for this cultural system? How do you propose we fix it

  1. You can't reform biology. Though if feminist had there way, they would make men date ugly women.

  2. You can't fix something that's not broken.

It's only natural for a man to want a good looking woman.  It's natural for women to want a man with money - so she doesn't have to work.  Heck, I don't want to work either.

  3. If it aint broke, then don't fix it.

Look at it from other point too. Nice looking chicks often choose to date losers and dysfunctional men. I have seen many drug addicts having hot girlfriends. Is that fair? Not in a perfect world. But this world is far from perfect. So instead of trying to bleed your bleeding heart further for fugly b*****s and hos, try to analyze why people make such choices rather than trying to exercise 'mind control'.

Often times, it is a case of ambition. An ambitious man would always have high benchmarks.

  4. You can't blame anyone, you can't fix it. Sorry.

  5. There's no fix and it can only get worse and worse.

One thing women managed to mantain is the fact that after a divorce it's always the man that has to pay. He loses the house, loses any offsprings and he has to pay her monthly cheques.

That's very strange how these "rules" go hand in hand with "equality".

Btw, while writing I got a fix for you: get yourself a VERY ugly woman and marry her thus starting a trend.

Post her photos prowdly on the net and have everyone to follow your example :)

  6. What you are saying is true. Have you ever noticed that almost all the famous female actresses are young and slender. I can name less then five current actresses off the top of my head that are over the age of 50. I can name only one that is overweight. This is obviously not true for men.

Its currently nobody's fault, not anyone living anyways. This is very much a societal thing and can only be changed gradually. You can help by trying to change your viewpoint.

  7. Women will be ignored if they are pretty but hard to get along with and are not great communicators. Nobody wants a pretty woman with a cold or unfriendly personality. Unfriendliness has a way of making a woman look ugly, no matter how pretty she is.

  8. The government in my opinon has to do with it. Back in the day it was the womens JOB to clean, cook and take care of the kids..

Women gained there rights, and not all men were for that. Men have a tendency to listen to other men so that "rule" that the women must look good just follows itself throughout the years.
