Europe, other than UK, doesn't have the military forces to even consider such an option. Only idiots would attack a nuclear armed superpower with insufficient forces.

Sanctions, yes.. War, nope... and it wouldn't be the EU against Russia and Georgia, it would be against Russia, and whoever sides with them... and that danged sure isn't Georgia.

This is how World War 3 will start. Russia nukes Georgia then China nukes Russia then U.S. nukes China, then Japan nukes U.S. and so on and so forth till the end of the world =(

Oh my I can't believe some one asked if the other countries have anything to do with that at all!

I hope there will be no war. I am from a former state of the Soviet union and we're doing great. And now all this. We turn on the TV and just silently watch the news and well, it hurts badly. This is the same way how the Russians came here. To save us and make us free. And it really was a freedom - now every one of us has a relative or someone they knew very well in the past, who was killed or deported. But that's past and we want to see the future. So we look, and it's just the same. There is a war, let's hope not the beginning of one, everybody is looking and doing nothing, same with my country because if we go and help, guess what - we'll be next. And UN or EU that could have some power, they are just making decisions.

But yes, they say that there won't be a real war. I hope so. Actual truth is that the Russian army isn't the best in the world. But there is one problem - it is very big. In Europe there are small countries that can't beat or even really harm them alone. And the big ones are afraid, even if they don't admit it.

I just wish someone would do something. It is so bad. And what century were we living in?

Most European countries aren't allied with Russia or Georgia... so no, I don't think so.  I think Russia will take Georgia pretty quickly now.
