one gallon of gas at four dollars won't get me very far at all.

a 16 oz cup of coffee at 5:30 am will get me through at least till noon.  I'll pay the four bucks so I don't get fired!

I look at it like this...we need gas!  I have to have gas in my car to work and blah blah blah.  Gas does not really do anything directly for people.  If I did choose to spend $4 on a cup of coffee, then that was my choice and I would get a little boost!  And...if people didn't have to spend all their money on gas....they could buy more coffee.   Not that I am really even a coffee drinker...it is just the idea of it.

Has your gas/petrol got to $4.00 a litre over hear in Australia petrol is $1.70 and a $1.90 for diesel. Yes that is funny we complain about the cost of petrol but pay $4 for a cup of coffee  without blinking an eye

there are a lot of ironic things about 4 dollar gas.  Those same whiners go to the casino and lose money, they eat out a lot, they pay for cigarettes, they have huge SUV's, they buy fancy clothes, and should just shut their mouths and be quiet.

The real problem is that while one or more coffees a day are optional, most of us in the USA absolutely have to consume at least 10 gallons of gas a day to live our accustomed lives. So I don't think it is ironic at all, especially when you can get excellent Don Francisco fresh roasted coffee delivered each month and make a quart of sensational coffee at home for less than a tenth of the 16 oz at the coffee shop. I take a thermos to work and just smile when I see everybody else putting money into Starbucks. Buy their stock!

I not only thing it is ironic but I think it is just plain stupid too.

This is the same as people who say they can't afford to take vitamins because they cost too much yet they have coffee or sodas aor candy eeryday which alwasy cost smore than the vitamins do.
