  1. Water is water. Why not just filter it yourself and fill a bota bag, canteen, or... here's a thought...  reuse one of those plastic bottles over and over again. The superstitious idiots above aren't thinking at ALL. People have been storing water in jars, amphorae, bags and bottles for millenia. Germs are irrelevent. LACK of germs causes the autoimmune system to go crazy and start attacking your own body!

  2. the best thing to do it recycle all the bottles you use but buy a reusable water bottle

  3. The 1st Cannon in "going green" is:

    REDUCE

  4. germs will grow

  5. No it isn't okay.  You should use a reusable water bottle and filter your own water.  The manufacturing of those water bottles uses petrol.  Yet furthering our reliance on oil!  Think too about the plastic leaching into your water!  Ewww!

  6. ew.

    no.

just go dump it in the recycling ben.

    dont reuse it..

  7. yeah cause they can made into more things.............. i'm not sure about this, but i think somtimes you can  make money off of it

  8. Well, of course, the best way to be eco friendly is to use a reusable bottle, such as a Nalgene. However, if for some reason you are unable to use one, I guess the next best thing is to recycle as much as you can. However, I'd really recommend trying to use a reusable bottle. If more people did, then there ultimately would be fewer plastic bottles floating around.

  9. no because only at most 3% of the plastic bottles u "recycle" ends up getting recycled while the rest ends up in a landfill so what I would suggest is reduce as much plastic consumption in the first place by getting a nalgene or sigg bottles and fill your own water.  bottled water is no better than tap anyways.

  10. No! Too many resources are used in producing and recycling plastics. One should do whatever they can to eliminate ALL plastics from their life.

Opt for a stainless steel water bottle instead. They have really cool ones at affirmwater.com. Peddlerswagon.com has one pretty inexpensive. A quick internet search will pop up tons more.

  11. Hah no. They've found its almost more harmful to the environment to recycle because of all of the gases used in the processing and transportation of the recyclables.

  12. recycle them

  13. no way, GO GREEN

  14. Yes, they will resell them to you soon. have a nice day.

  15. Why would you buy bottled water in the first place?  Why not just refill one bottle?  Aren't you aware that plastic bottles are made from petroleum?  Petroleum is OIL, just in case you don't know.  Your bottled water is probably from a city water source - tap water.

  16. Well you could get a nalgene bottle they are supposedly indestructible so you could use it forever.

  17. If you really like to be eco-friendly, its better to use glass bottles instead.

Recycling glass is much easier and more eco-friendly. Recyclable glass can be used as raw material for manufacturing glass again. But recycle it right as glass bottles also tend to end up in landfills if not recycled properly.

As someone said the first step to being eco-friendly is to reduce. The motto is Reduce, Re-use, Recycle.

    Hope this helps.

  18. Here is what you need to be asking.  Why do so many people buy bottled water thinking that they are getting cleaner water than from their own water tap?  The majority of bottled water comes from the local municipal water company located near the bottling company.  People need to read the labels to see if they are getting pure spring water or water that comes from a tap.  When you read the bottle and it says sodium bicarbonate, this is a additive that the water company adds to water to help clean it.  There are a lot of people that have this conception that bottled water is cleaner than their local municipal water company.  Not saying that all municipal water companies have drinkable water.  90% of them have clean drinkable water.  You have to remember that they are heavily monitored by the government.  The best way to help the enviornment is not to purchase so many plastic water bottles.  This creates a burden on land fills if they are not recycled correctly.  Use a bottle from home, use your local municipal water, and there is nothing WRONG with reusing the plastic water bottles if they have been cleaned thurgouly.  You stated that you are ECO-FREINDLY, well reusing these bottles or not purchasing them is the best way.  HOPE THIS HELPS.
