  1. Reasonable? NO

    Illegal?  NO

There are no laws in this country that require the employer to provide you with a break with the exception of FACTORY ASSEMBLY LINE WORKERS in some states and minors under the age of 18 in all states.

Whoever the user was that said you are entitled to a half hour lunch break and 2  15 minute breaks needs to study up on the law. Breaks are set by contracts, agreements and union negotiations and not by any state labor board like so many people are mislead to believe.

Trust me on this, I researched this in the past and emailed my local dept of labor with this very question because their website did not list any guide lines on breaks during work shifts.

  2. It's illegal... You're entitled a 30 minute lunch and 2 15 minute breakes by Labor and Industries every day in which you work 8 hours. (Its only a lunch and a 15 minute break if you work over 5) now if you've taken your 30 minutes and 2 15 minute breaks... then yeah... if you're just sitting there doing nothing... then yeah... they can...

  3. Let me guess is your boss a little short man with a mustache?

    L.M.S

  4. Only if you're dismantling a bomb.

Otherwise, that's counterproductive and possibly illegal.
