Do you think it's right for my supervisor to make employees go in the office in the day for a meeting...?

when the employees are only scheduled to work in the evenings? He keeps doing this and I never have a babysitter.

  1. yes, he can do this (as long as he's paying you for your time.) You can ask that he give you more advance notice so you can line up a babysitter, and you can also ask if meetings can be scheduled at the end of the day shift/beginning of the evening shift to make things more convenient.

    what type of meeting is it? would it be possible for you to participate via conference call?


  2. it's very difficult to schedule staff meetings when you have multiple shifts.  maybe you could suggest to your manager that they schedule meetings on alternate sifts.  meaning, first meeting during the day, the next on the other shift?  just a suggestion.

  3. that sucks, I once had to drive 50 miles to go to a meeting and then they didn't even pay me. The managers decided to hold a meeting for all stores in our county.

    I would get another job during the day and tell him you have another job or that you'll quit the other job if he pays you for those meetings
