Question:

Do you think it's rude that parents let their kids play in other people's back yards all day?

We live in an all mormon town where everyone lets their kids ages 3+ run loose through the neighborhood all day. They are constantly in our backyard and everyone elses since no one has a fence yet. I just think this is so rude. I never let my kids play in other people's yards without their permission. Also, isn't 3 a little too young to be out alone roaming the streets?

  1. Its rude but its also irresponsible.

I would tell the kids I catch playing in my yard (which I do cause I live in a complex with 300 other familys), that they can't just come over and play with your toys. They need to ask. They will get it if you are firm about it.

  2. yes its rude tell them off

  3. yes kids should be taught to respect other people's things, if the children don't care it is obvious that the parents dont either

  4. Yes, That's Very Rude. Talk To The Parents. If They Won't Get The Kids To Leave, Yell At The Kids Next Time They Are In Your Backyard, Or Put Up A Fence. Call The Police If They Say No. Sue Them.

    Those Are My Ideas

  5. Absolutely.  3 years old is much too young to be out unsupervised!  When children enter your yard, simply tell them that it is illegal to go in a yard that does not belong to them.  If they persist, hand them your phone, ask them to dial their phone number, and then take the phone back and speak to their parents.

If that still doesn't help, inform the police of the situation.  It seems like these parents may need a kick in the behind to realize how unsafe and irresponsible they're being.

  6. It would not happen in MY back yard but one time.  Children need to be in their own yard so the parents will know where they are and what they are doing.

  7. Yes it's rude.  Yes 3 is too young.

  8. 3 is definitely too young to be out roaming the streets.

It is rude. Especially if the owner of the yard doesn't give permission for it. The parents have no right to let the child on your property. If you wanted to start something over it, you could have them charged.

  9. Yes, it's rude unless the kid is there playing with your kids. And 3 is way too young to be roaming around alone. I don't even let my 5 year old do that.

  10. Yes!! by all means you are 100% right!!,

3or 4 yrs old, mormon or jew, we are nobodys baby sitter!

  11. I think it is rude.  It's different if they are out there playing in your backyard with your kids back there too.  Also I do think that with how things are today, 3 year olds should not be running around unsupervised

  12. Its extremely rude and tacky for people to allow their children to run around and play in other folks yards. 3 is way too young to be out alone...I guess people won't be satisfied until a child gets run over by a car or abducted. Then they will wonder "why."
