  1. normal is behaviors and thoughts that the society around us accepts.

so, "normal" in california may not be "normal" in new york.

or, on an even greater scale, consider south africa and china.

    mm-hmmm.

there is no one definition of normal- it's all about the society in which we live. the socio-multicultural aspect of psychology- look it up ;)

  2. Normal (def): conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural

Maybe sometimes we do things that most people do, but we all have some things that's different about us, we just don't show it because we're afraid people will think it's weird. In my opinion, no one is truely normal.

  3. were not normal beacause we are mammals and animals.so no we arent

  4. Normal is that which falls within the average mean.

  5. Here's the definition: conforming with or constituting a norm or standard or level or type or social norm

In definition, most of us are normal. We follow regular rules and expectations set by our society, such as not running naked around the street.

  6. If normal is average, and nobody meets that criteria, then doesn't it stand to reason that to be non-average is normal? An average person might not stand out, but that certainly isn't the norm.

edit: This is one of those questions that makes my brain try to distract me from it because it sucks to try to really come up with THE answer on it. You won't get one. There isn't a real "normal," but I think there is an "abnormal" we need to keep our distance from. Like, oh, murdering and such. Other than right and wrong, I think that while there may be an average, it's just not YOU, you know? You are how you are, and to be yourself is normal for you. Just let it go... ow, my brain!!

  7. Normal is a setting on my washing machine.

  8. Just like they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I think that normality is also in the eye of the beholder. It really depends which country your in. Every culture around the world has their own standards as to what is considered normal. For example in the middle east women are expected not to show thier faces or to behave in a certain manner. This would not be considered normal in other places. So normal would be defined by each person and mostly by where your located. We will be normal to some and not to others.

    Hope you find this useful;)

  9. None of us are normal because we all are unique as we have different finger prints and DNA and so on.

Normal is really a fantasy word that describes a set of behaviors we all agree is for the general good. The problem is that those who deviate from it can actually help the overall goals but people can't see that. For example, normal could have been long ago to go to the cobbler and get your shoes made. Then someone came along and made a shoe that didn't need a cobbler which was good but not normal behavior.

In the end, you need to have courage to do what makes sense to you and not worry where the "normal" herd is running. This is the challanege for most of us.

  10. I actually wrote Gene Simmons of Kiss about my views on normalcy.  I will post the link to my message and you have to scroll until you see the message with my name Lee Gerstmann on it.  That's how I feel about normalcy.  Please let me know if you agree or not.

  11. Every one is different correct? So if people were normal, they'd be the same. And thats just not the case. For people there is no normal. People are unique and its better that way!

Consider your self lucky to be you :P

  12. wierd

  13. Normality in its simplest state of view is just a relative measure of acquired familiarity with an entity, thus, anything will seem normal if you are familiar with it,well,if not then it appears abnormal for some time!

  14. normal is simply a way of saying that they adhere to all of the societal and social rules and roles.

No one is really normal like that, but many people are afraid of being different from others so they claim they are normal and others aren't.  My personal feeling is that everyone has a bit of normalcy in them and a bit of abnormalness in them.  And so in my conclusion i think no one is normal, if we were all normal then no one could be special.

  15. No one is really...normal. seriously. i mean, like having breakfast, going to work, then home and then sleeping. in the same trench. seriousslllyyyy

    there isnt a normal ^.^

    being normal is weird! xD

  16. I think in my opinion someone thats normal is not original and is boring.

not normal would be own personality and seperate.

    None of us are normal

  17. I'm sorry, but I think this is a stupid question.

We're all NOT normal, because we all do weird things. Like I like to eat ruffles with salsa or mustard with hot cheetos. So yeahh.
