Even if you knowingly have them and cannot afford to take care of them, without major government assistance.

  1. If one feels they have the "right" to have children, then they should also have the right to provide for them.

  2. I don't think its smart, but I do think its a fundamental right. I also don't think anyone wants to live in a world where the government can tell us who can and can't have children under any circumstances.

  3. This is why we shouldn't give government assistance.

If you want children, you take care of them.

  4. I think it is a choice to have a child. Now a days there are many ways to prevent pregnancy and people should be aware of their options. However, me personally I would not want to bring a child into the world if my husband and I cannot care for them ourselves.

  5. Yes.  My answer is to have your tubes tied if you don't want children.  The only sure fire way to prevent it.  Have it reversed when you are ready to be a parent.

  6. Just because you physically can have children doesn't mean you should.

  7. It is a fundamental right to have children.  It is a fundamental responsibility to take care of them.

  8. The government should have no right to tell you what to do as long as you do not harm others.  So you have every right to have children, but if you fail to provide for them they have the right to take them away...

  9. No I don't think we should regulate having children only under special conditions...because the government will abuse the power if it had the power to chose who is worthy of giving birth and who isn't..this is a very thin line that if crossed will become a tool to use against the Handicap,  and poor people....Child services are used to take control of children who aren't living in a suitable environment, and if the Mother can not afford her child she can go on welfare or government aid...yes that child is worth your taxes in my eyes.....so our mechanisms in place now are sufficient.........but I am more interested in what the pro-life would do to mothers who illegally abort their fetus's if Abortion became outlawed.....

  10. This is one of those topics that everyone has a slightly different opinion about, so finding absolute truth is pretty much impossible.

Humans have the base desire, the fundamental drive, to reproduce and have their seed carry on into the next generation. The issue we see often in the USA is that people have children through either choice or mistake, then find themselves unable to take care of those children. While I do not belive a fair system of deciding who may and may not reproduce exists, or will ever exist, the tendency of people to have children irresponsibly must be taken into account.

Yes, I would say that it is wrong to restrict someone from having children, however I also firmly believe that a potential parent should meet basic criteria before doing so. If you are to have a child then you must be able to support that child emotionally and physically, and provide for their needs in entirety with minimal assistance.

I define minimal assistance as being that which is expected of any society, including education. I do not believe that deadbeat parents should be given extra support simply because they were too stupid to not have a child, and too lazy (or stupid) to get a job. If you are working and cannot support your family, than minor assistance may be called for. However if you are simply too lazy to work, then you should not have had children.

In those cases where people simply should not have children, and do so, I don't believe for a second that those children should stay in their posession. If you cannot provide an environment conducive to your child's health and well being than you should not have them.

  11. Yes it is a fundamental right. However not good judgment. That is the difference.

  12. Procreation is a basic human right.

Procreation is up there with the need to breath and eat, it is necessary to survival.

Yes, having children is a fundamental right.

  13. We are animals with the strong instinct to reproduce. This starts early in life before we can even do the deed.It is a drive that makes some men lose their common sense, and overcomes all the rules we set on ourselves. It is not only a right, it is a species imperative. We should not eat our young.

  14. No way man, I think the government workers should come in and forcefully sterilize women who are poor and if they get pregnant they should be strapped down and have saline injected into their tummies, they should go through labor and be punished through pain and seeing the dead child, the result of their irresponsible misdeed,

and then they will be sterilized.

And if for some reason the kid does get born, to this disgusting, poverty stricken piece of filth for a mother, they should snatch the baby up right away out of her arms and sell it to the highest bidder,

if they can't do that, then they should put it in gov't child care facilities or foster homes where they can be routinely ignored, beaten and molested.

There needs to be rigorous screening for potential "breeders", they should all come from a certain financial level (I think making no less than 50k per yr is fair, you?), appearance level, intelligence level and social status level.

If they don't pass, they will be sterilized.

  15. It's a fundermental right to nedd to have kids or we die out as a race

  16. It is your right because no one can take it away from you and its fundamental because thats basically what we are here for but that doesn't make it morally right or responsible for everyone to have kids. If you think about it, back in cave man times these people who abuse the welfare state would have still been able to have their children, they just would have died because if you weren't willing to go out and provide food for your family no one else would.

  17. I think that all people should have some sort of birth control planted at a young age to prevent the people of the world from having children that are just going to suffer.  I think that people should have to take tests and recieve a licence to have children, because of all the people out there that do stupid things, and get pregnant and treat their children like c**p because they didn't really want a kid.

  18. I  am a mother of two,but wanted more. Why didn't I have more.We could NOT afford it.I don't mean to insult anyone, accidents happen and many women are LEFT to raise their kids alone with or without assistance.BUT if you have ONE and need public assistance you must have mandatory birth control.I don't mean the ooops I forgot my pill,I mean the one year injections.I would hope that in that time frame-one to two years that our illustrious government should help you get an education.there are many 6 week to one year classes that offer good pay esp. in the medical field. Sonography, medical assistants, billing and coding x-ray,all paying $250000 and up.Pay to educate not procreate!I took a class and paid the registration fee and when I filled out my other paper work,it was discovered that I qualified as a

'displaced mother-dear old dad took off-.Free tuition.I got a decent job and put two kids through college! I COULD still be on assistance, but what could our tax money be doing to educate, license, certify others if they had paid my housing, food stamps free lunches for the kids and I for a mere 16 YEARS.Do the MATH

BTW,both of my Sons are through college,(with scholarships FL. bright scholars program with a B average)making a positive impact on society and work in their fields. And they worked part time going through college,of course I helped them. That was MY job.I HAD them.Be responsible.

  19. Well having children is not a right just for the rich.  I don't think the government should hand out checks to idiot teenage mothers who got themselves pregnant but at the same time we should not make the babies suffer.  Handing a check over to a teen mother is not the answer...instead vouchers for baby food and milk should be given so that the babies do not suffer.   What i can't stand are the teen mothers who take their welfare check to the mall and have a shopping spree and have designer purses that I can't even afford !  But it does need to be said that most rich folks end up having screwed up kids anyways.  It's the kids who grow up with very little that end up working hard and getting college degrees and growing up to be adults with great character.  George W. Bush grew up rich...he's an idiot...Obama grew up working hard and paying his way through college...he grew up to be an amazing man.  Enough said.

  20. wasn't this decided in roe vs wade...its a private choice that only the woman can make...if it goes for abortion it also goes for keeping it...

  21. I'd prefer that fundamentalists didn't have children. :)

  22. yes

its not a smart choice, but it is absolutely a fundamental right.

  23. This is a very controversial question.  On one hand I think that anyone has the right to be a parent, to love and care for a child.  On the other hand I know that there are people in this world that are too selfish and irresponsible to care for child.  Sometimes when a parent is having financial problems they can turn towards government assistance for temporary help, but you shouldn't rely on it as a substitute for working & making your own money to provide for your family.

  24. Yes I do think it is a fundamental right, however, bringing a child into this world in that kind of situation is very difficult and looked down upon. Some people say it's irresponsible to have a child in that situation. I believe that through God, anything is possible though and that he will provide if you have faith.

  25. unfortunately as long as the apes living among us still have their genetalia there still gonna breed
