Do you think it is a good idea to call and/or email your Peace Corps recruiter?

I read in a book by a PCV that you should stay on top of the application process or you can get overlooked. I have sent my recruiter an email about the last reference letter that should have been received by now but hasn't shown up on my PC toolkit It's been 3 days. Should I try to call or email the recruiter? If i don't will I look disinterested or if I call will I seem too persistent. ? What is your experience?

  1. Peace Corps like many government organizations is quite disorganized.  The recruiter is probably and grad student who is very busy.  Give him or her some time and they will get back to you.

Give them 3-4 more days before you call.

The time when I would suggest pushing harder is during the medical part of the process. That can take a long time.

  2. 3 days really isn't that long, give it a week then go ahead and email them.
