Do you think it is fair that a sports trainer from one country trains another countries team for the olympics?

Yep, they pay for it, the coaches take the money, and most of all, they are people, and they are trained professionals, they ahev the right to train whoever thy want.

If it's fair for foreign athletes to come to America, get a college education, receive athletic training from top universities, and then represent their home nation in the olympics, it should be fair for a foreign coach to train athletes for another nation's team.

yea why not?  their heritage( where they come from) doesnt have to do with winning or something, all coaches have the same capibility as any other

like when i wa sin gymnastics i had a russian coach

The only rule is that athletes be citizens of country they represent.

Many athletes train in other countries because of their expertise.

Yes, because most of the trainers are citizens of the athletes' who they are training's country. Such as: the USA gymnasts' two coaches, a Romanian woman and a Chinese man; and the Chinese rythmic gymnasts' coach, who is Russian.

Yes, Of course it's fair. The Olympics is not a contest between countries, It's a contest between athletes who represent different countries. US coaches too go to other countries to start programs. Heck that 33 year old gymnast who won silver has been on 3 different national teams. USSR, Russia, and now Germany. It doesn't matter because the Olympics is not a competition between countries.

yes i do. nearly every country has chinese diving coaches because the chinese are the best divers. i think it's fine, that's how all the countries stay competitive on the international stage.

They get paid good money, I don't think it's unfair.  In fact it was great to see Bela Karoly so passionate about our girls gymnasts.  The Chinese guy who is coach of Shawn is great coach and has done a great job even though he did participate for China when he was active.

i believe it's allowed only if the coach obtains citizenship in the same country as the athlete. or the coach may have defected from their homeland and living legally in the country. otherwise, it is considered treason and defeats the purpose of international competition.
