the republicans are only asking for a simple vote on a energy bill and to call congress back into session from summer vacation for this vote. yet the speaker of the house has turned off the cameras, mics, and lights to the house because they want to vote on this. is this fair and why?

  1. no - it is tantamount to censorship.  It also puts layers of abstraction on government that essentially illustrates how hypicritical the democrats really are.

cspan is under contract to cover anything happening on the floor regardless of when it is happening.  so they are in violation of their contract as well.  how convienient that senate and house is not doing anything about that.

  2. Thank Nancy Pelosi and your local Democratic politicians.  Another example of politics over the good of America....

  3. "Fair?" Fair only counts when you're divvying up candy to children.

It was a politically motivated action, and it may end up having political consequences. It was very heavy-handed (and ham-handed) of Pelosi to do that.

She has the power to do that, sure. But it was an extravagant use of it for a purely political end.
