  3. Question:  Do you think it is mean to hunt deer and other animals?

Answer:  Katy, do you think it is mean to allow animals to over-populate to the extent that they disease and starve?  A couple of weeks ago I read that Whitetail deer are the most commonly hunted game in the USA.  Still they are not anywhere near endangered.  They are so prolific that if they weren't hunted they would decimate crops intended for human consumption and eventually just eat not only themselves, but Man out of house and home.  We already have a similar problem with the wild boar.  It is even more prolific than the deer and it is dangerous to boot.

So hunting is not mean because it keeps things in balance.  It is the Natural Order of Things.  You see, all things in Nature hunt even your adorable Tabby cat.  Man is a hunter/gatherer.  That's just how it is.

  4. No. I think it is very mean NOT to hunt deer.

If they were not hunted, their populations would explode, leading to starvation, overfeeding on plant life causing the wiping out of some plants, subsequent soil erosion, disease and deer running rampant onto highways, killing humans.

Have you ever seen a starving wild animal? Not a pretty sight, and I'm a tough old guy who has seen a lot.

Did you know whitetail deer are responsible for more human deaths in the US than any other animal? Imagine if we let their populations explode!

No swetheart, hunting deer is actually very humane and beneficial to all the deer population. Most every hunter makes sure they kill quickly....we do not enjoy seeing anmals suffer. That may seem strange to you but it is true, we as a group pride ourselves on protecting the deer and wildlife populations and quick and humane harvesting of the animals that wildlife management allows us to hunt.

  5. No its not mean, when mankind didn't have canned foods and junk like that, they went out and killed animals to eat, but if a person just kills things to watch them die, thats cruel. i hunt deer, hogs, turkey, dove, etc but its not cruel because we are using it to our advantage.

  6. I eat meat.  Hunting enables me to be intellectually honest about my diet.  I don't always eat what I hunt, however.  Sometimes I hunt to perform pest eradication - kinda like killing the roaches in your house.

  7. I think it is mean NOT to hunt.

If no one hunted, the wild animals population would grow out of control, leading to starvation and epidemics that could kill all wild animals.

Animal over population would also lead to increased animal-auto collisions which would be fatal to the animals and might be fatal and will certainly be expensive to the humans in the auto.

How much money do you contribute annually to wildlife conservation?

We hunters contribute millions annually through the Pittman-Roberts tax, which we hunters asked the Federal government to impose.  Revenues from Pittman-Roberts finance numerous wildlife studies, purchase land to set aside for wildlife refuges, and fund the National Wildlife Service.

Hunters contribute more to wildlife conservation than all the bunny hugger and eco-terrorist groups combined.  We want to preserve wildlife so that our great-grandchildren can enjoy the same hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities we have enjoyed.

Now why don't you go back to your bunny hugger group and leave the hunters alone.  You won't convince anyone with your propaganda, you will only make people mad and get yourself reported.

  8. No, it's part of life

  9. I think it is mean to shoot animals just for the sake of doing it then leaving it there.

If you're going to eat it, or skin it, or put any section of the body of the animal to good use, then I say it's just a way of life.

It's a food chain, you really can't do anything about that.

  10. I think that it is not mean, it is a necessity but this is only if you are going to eat what you kill if not then it is, unless it is messing up your land.

  11. No, of course not! they're delicious! :)

  12. No i do not believe so if it is for season only. I heard somewhere that god put bees on the earth to pollanate. and worms to do the soil. But what do dears do???That is what i read in a book one time. As long as someone doesnt kill pregnet or baby ones that is fine.

  13. NO.* " Society will forever judge Hunters by their Compassion for the Animals that they Hunt for and Harvest.* " Hunting is Fun and Enjoyable, Killing is neither Fun or Enjoyable." Wildlife is a renewable resource and by Harvesting it prevents overpopulation, and contributes to a healthier population of Wildlife.* Would you rather it die of Disease, old age, or starvation, or killed by vehicles along the roads and highways.* All life is precious to us true Hunters, even a Rabbits to us Hunters who Hunt them for Sport and Food for ourselves, family, friends, and fellow Hunters.*

  14. no, PETA = Perfectly Eatable Tasty Animals

  15. No, not really. I can kill an animal faster than most animals can so it can actually be better for them.

  16. Yes. It's also mean when the nurse gives you shots, but both also have this in common: they do a lot of good for a little harm. When you grow up, you'll be better able to handle complex thinking.

  17. Do you think it's mean to eat cows and other animals?

They do have to be killed first you know.

We humans are omnivores Dear, and when we eat, something must die.

  18. I think phil has got it on this one.

  19. Its away of controling animal populations.  As pong as its a quick kill it is not mean

  20. Nope, it's a good thing.

  21. No I don't,just think if there was no hunting, what do you think our American roads and cities would look like? The roads would be really dangerous and lots of people and animals would get killed and hurt every year. This will also happen in cites.People have to hunt to keep the animal population down.

  22. Not at all, GOD ate meat too!*

  23. Mean is a term that doesn't apply.  Cruel perhaps is closer.  Not that cruel is correct, just closer in meaning.  Deer, rabbits, and other animals have been hunted and eaten for thousands of years.  By humans, wolves, bears, cougars, coyotes, foxes, crows, and mice.  Is it cruel for wolves to kill animals?  Is it wrong for meat eating animals to exist?  Or, is it somehow ok for a wolf to kill and eat a deer, but mean and wrong for a human to do the same thing?

  24. Not if you eat it or kill to controll population.

  25. i agree with phil

  26. i eat the meat and mount the heads for show
