  1. Hello,

It essentially says, sigh, ok, have it your way; I don't give a fishes t*t about it and I don't wish to discuss it. The person saying this sometimes presents himself as a simpering wimp or air head valley girl type.

    Cheers,

    Michael Kelly

  2. Yes, it means I do not care what you have to say, I'm not interested in you, and I am not patient enough to hear you.

  3. I just think of one old Frasier program when Roz was on vacation and Mary.. a black lady took over her job. and later she actually ''stole his job'' for a while and answered all the questions addressed to him and she always said.. ok ok got that.. whatever GF.. that's what it reminds me of... maybe for some people it's an expression when they don't care either way and want to leave the decision to others or when they believe the others are wrong...

  4. Yes, I "think it is rude when someone says "whatever" but not if they're saying it because someone is being rude to them.

    Thanks for asking.

  5. Whatever is for 15 year olds and it is rude even then.

Whatever has no place what so ever in any adult conversation or social interaction. It shows mental laziness, lack of creativity and a lack of intelligence. An adult can use more words to express a concept.

It is also dismissive and disrespectful to the person it is spoken to.

  6. Whatever you say sounds so much nicer except when said in a sarcastic tone, but whatever you do, don't do just whatever you want unless you have a good reason.  How about that?  Is it rude?  Probably, since it was used to dismiss your observation without much regard.  However, people will do that all your life, even when you're an adult, so you may as well ignore them and do your best no matter what.

  7. Yes, but it depends on the context.  In lighthearted joking or squabbling, no.

  8. In what context?

If you're blowing someone off ("whatever" *rolls eyes"), it's IMMATURE and rude.

  9. Yes, but it depends on the situation and topic. If its just for laughs, then yeah, its fine. But if its for something serious like work or something critical, then yeah, its bad.

    Hope that helps

  10. Depends on how it's said.

  11. That pretty "agist" of you.

It depends on the context. If you're trying to tell someone a tip or something, and they just turn and go "WHATEVER" and walk away, it's rude.

But if you're just asking them where they want to eat out, and they say, "I don't really care. You can eat whatever you feel and I'll just follow" that's not rude.

    I'm 14

  12. If it's the classic rolling of the eyes, one word answer to a comment, then yes.
