  1. No way. ARe you mENtAL?

  2. not yet

  3. He's easily the top two player in the world. He's having a mental breakdown this year. The pressure he's put on himself is enormous. I believe he's cracked, but next year he'll come back. This season is a write off and so will the upcoming US Open.

  4. Nah. He seems very confident about the US and Olympics. After his loss against Gilles he said it hurt to lose that early however the ones he knows and wants to win the most are US and Olympics.... sooo what do u think?

  5. nah. s**y Rafa answered it well, and I also agree with another poster "sportsfan" that said his forehand was wild. It was VERY wild. I don't know what was up with that, but it wasn't that Simone was playing that great, it was Federer making mistakes (51 unforced!!!) and getting frustrated and impatient. You never see him venting at the umpire, but yesterday he was. I was so sad to see him lose. If Federer is out, tennis will get boring. But, some people seem to want that.

  6. It's the end. Call up Sampras and tell him his record is safe because the Federer express is rolling in reverse

  7. I think its the beginning of the end but by no means the end. For so long Roger dominated the sport but now he has real competition and needs to adapt for that. Whether or not he is up for the challenge we will see. I can't begin to imagine how hard it must be to so quickly lose all that invinciblity and losing Wimbledon was a massive blow!

I really hope he can get embrace the challenge and retain the belief to do so. This is the best rivalry I have ever seen and I really want it to continue.

  8. Yeah, it is the beginning of the end for him.  He is starting to decline.  I mean, losing to Giles Simon, c'mon.

  9. I think it's a little unfair to write him off this early but it does seem like Rafa will be the new world #1 sooner than we thought :-)

  10. I think it is obvious the end is nearing.  He is past his prime.  He is making a lot of errors this year.  As good as he was, he relied on an all-court game to win.  When he was dominating, his all-court game was flawless.

Now the errors are piling up and he is missing shots that he would have made.

Sampras had a huge 1st and 2nd serve and was a classic serve and volley player.  Sampras had an all-court game, but he did not rely on it to win as much as Federer does.  So when Sampras' backhand wasn't working in a particular match, it would not hurt him as badly.

  11. not fully but yes. nadal will take the no.1 rank from fedex but fedex will stay stay in second may be till hes around 28

  12. I think yes, b'coz he is declining match by match.

    pkn

  13. umm not really

i still think federer has it

  14. i tink federer need to get out of his inferiority complex and start playing as raw as he used to just an year ago

then nobody will be able to even see his#1 spot in tennis

and he will definately beat sampras's record

    he is a true legend

now its the begining of his new begining

  15. yup. he's slowly fading, but the faster the better. I think Nadal is a better player than he is even though he is less consistent.

  16. No...he's just having a bad year.

  17. I am a big Federer fan and I still think he will be number 1.  Everybody goes through a rough patch and his was sick at he beginning of the year so this is probably just a bad year for him.  Once he starts winning again, nobody will stop him, not even Rafa.  I don't understand why everyone thinks he is out of the running.  If it were any other player including Rafa, people would think he was just having a bad year.  I think Federer will still be number one hopefully without Rafa becoming it by the end of this year.

  18. Far from it. If he was losing easily in first round matches, consistently, I would think it would be time. He has plenty of time, just not as spoiled to winning as he is used to. That has to do with the increased level of play through out the tour, let alone Nadal and Novak. IN his most recent loss at Rogers Cup, that forehand was wild and seemed impatient in long ralleys. Something most are not used to seeing. He will lose a bunch of points from last season, having reached the final, but I dont think hanging on to top ranking is his main priority. Rather, to get his game back on track and collect some more wins/matches/tournaments, and quit showing his vulnerable ways.
