  1. In the context of journalism or the law, it's absolutely wrong.  There's this thing called integrity that is supposed to be a value of journalists and those who work in the legal profession, so any type of alteration or manipulation of a photograph is alteration or manipulation of the truth.


  2. I believe that altering the content is wrong. I don't have a problem with digital spot touching, though.

  3. The technology is making this quite an argument. You can change someone's eye color if you want.

    For a news outlet, it's obviously a bad idea to alter a photo. You want people to trust it. But you can crop a photo in a certain way to make a point or to increase the drama. So you have to be really careful about these things, because deception is possible.

  4. If you are representing the photo as real, then of course it is wrong to alter or manipulate it.  

    If you are just making a portrait, you can do what you want.
