Do you think it is wrong to refer an employee retarded just because she or he cannot skate?

I work at Sonic Drive in as a Carhop and well my boss wanted me to try to skate I told him that I would try but prefer not to since im not a good skater. I tried it it lets just say it didnt work out! I was falling all over the place. Most of the carhops dont skate either but he made it seem like I had to skate in which I told him I was not a good skater in the first place.

  2. i think everyone has rights to do what they want and learn what they want so you should not have to skate if you don't want to so tell you boss thats mean and retarded .

    Retarded is a derogatory term, that he is using, and you can actually get him for harrasment, and i personally am offended because iw ork with mentally challenged peoples and my younger sibling is. Thats absoloultey ridiculous.

    You have the choice of wearing skates or not, he does not have the right to force you into those, you need to talk to him first.. and then if that doesnt seem to work you need to talk to your general manager but first you need to report the harrasment thats horrendous!

And you should.  And before you leave that job i would say to him" let's see you get on a pair of skates. I bet you any amount of $$ that he can't do it either. Or you could skate and fall and sue him for a pot hole in the road.

    move on to a different job. or go above his head to the cooperate office and report him! He should be fired from his job!

  6. I agree with Steven D. Forcing an employee to do anything which is not in the job description is a no-no. Making fun of that employee because he/she can't do the task is childish. No, you are not retarded! Your talents may lie elsewhere, not on skates!

  10. I see lots of people at sonic NOT skating.  Tell you manager, until you're better at skating, you prefer to walk.  By the way, if you get hurt at work..THEY'RE payinig the medical bills.

  11. Sonic Policy is as follows," any car hop has the OPTION of wearing skates...."  Does he pay your Dr. bills? I ran a Sonic in South Carolina, not all our carhops were skaters. If he continues to force the issue,  contact corporate headquarters.
