Referring to the recent Spielberg-China dispute, although there have been others in the past.

I feel like the Olympics does not belong to any one country, it belongs to everyone no matter where it is hosted. In that spirit, I feel it is an inappropriate forum to make a political statement.

Furthermore, EVERY country has its fair share of wrongdoing, but we still need a place to hold the Olympics. Maybe by his logic, the moon would a good place to have the Olympics. The moon hasnt done anything wrong yet.

  1. no, all Olympics are in one way or another political vehicles for the host country to show of..

  2. Moon is responsible for the tides that flood and drown countless people.  I am boycotting the moon.

  3. Olympics stage or field should not be used as for politics but you cant do anything if the govt is involved into this. One man can't divert the tide of an ocean so better to accompany with the tide.

Now a days every thing has become a normal flow, and nothing is specific, the organizer does whatever he/ she wants or they are asked to do. So you are unable to prevent. be polite and watch the movie. Accept the change and impregnate yourself as the system goes. You can't change the whole system by keeping yourself away from the practice.

Be the part of the procedure, live into the web of practice and then fight to change it. This you can do and almost who have objection and wants to revamp the system they do like this.

  4. China should have known going in to the Olympics that there would be those that would not play ball due to a poor track record with human rights violations.  This probably doesn't concern them a whole lot because they will just fill the audience with mostly locals who have probably never seen them before, live.

However, it isn't really fair to use the Olympics for political posturing, because it does not represent just one country.  You are attacking people around the world by doing so and not at all hurting the people you are trying to send a message to.  He thinks he can get away with it because of his upcoming blockbuster sequel and from name alone.
