    If you wanna get fired though, go for it. Lol.

  3. At most jobs you'll be on a probationary period. Excessive absence is a strong reason to terminate you. It doesn't show you're putting them first. If the person really was interested in mentoring kids for a week, why did they accept the position? It's not about how noble the reason is to take off, it's how dependable you show yourself. After only a month, they'll probably want to cut their losses and train someone who'll be there when they need them. After all, if they didn't need someone to do the job, they wouldn't have hired them.  They'll probably consider it a quit or just ask you not to come back.
