Do you think it was ethical for Aer Lingus to relocate its hub to Belfast?

any EU airline can operate from wherever they choose, it's the law. I don't think having SOME routes mean they are locating their hub. Actually, I don't even know if the word "hub" applies, as Aer Lingus is more like a point-to-point airline, like Ryanair

It's about business, and good business at that. Aer Lingus may be the official airline of the Republic but so what? It's nice to see them fly out of Belfast - and very comfy as I flew to London with them last week.

No, I don't think it was ethical for them to move.  They were making money in Shannon, they spent years driving out any competition & Aer Rianta bent over backwards to set the place up for them.  Now they're one of how many air plane operators working out of Belfast?    

h**l will freeze over before I fly with them anywhere again.  Even if I was desperate & had no choice, I'd rather go by National Express or swim for it.

Edit: Let's not forget either Aer Lingus by removing the Shannon-Heathrow route has also jeopardised jobs & businesses in the Shannon region

You mean out of Shannon? It seemed wrong at the time, but the link with the Paris airport has more than compensated for this.

well i don't think aer lingus re-locating some of their routes has anything to do with the troubles or ethics,it's purely business,if they're going to make more money in belfast then let them go there
