  1. What kind of North Face Jacket?  If the weather is uncertain, take a fleece jacket and a waterproof shell.  You can wear one or the other or both.

  2. You'll probably want the shell as well. The fleece alone will be a bit chilly.

  3. You will be freezing.

  4. stick to the 3 layers system

    thermal

    polo neck sweater

    jacket

if you get to hot  remove 1 layer

  5. Fleece is a good insulator, but does not break the wind.  If it is a windy day, you probably want to go with the thicker jacket.  If it is calm, go with the North Face.

  6. You should be fine.  I ski in NY and wear a hoodie and North Face shell jacket.  Just wear layers if it's cold, and stay away from cotton base layers.  I wear Under Armor, hoodie and jacket and haven't frozen yet.
