Do you think it would be a good tribute to Good old Skip Caray if we refuse to do the wave at the games?

All braves fans should pay tribute to good old Skip Caray by not doing the wave at the games for the rest of the year! I cried when I read the articles in Mondays paper not all tears of sadness, but also tears of joy as I could hear his voice clearly saying his famous words as I read them braves win braves win braves win! It too bad we could not send him off with another great year of course, the braves would be in first if it was not for all the injures. The Mets and the Phillies will fall apart like they always do down the stretch. The Braves would have come back if they could have some descent pitching. They can not seem to figure out that Mike Hampton is a has been never will be again and that Chuck James is nothing more than a RP for games that out of reach! If they had any sense their rotation would be. Jair Jurgens, Charlie Morton, Jorge Campillo, Jeff Bennett, Buddy Carlyle. If we are going to give up we should let those young pitchers develop!

"We are overwhelmed by the number of friends, colleagues, co-workers, MLB players and people in the baseball community who have reached out to us and so grateful and touched by their support and prayers," Caray's family said in a statement. "We are also deeply appreciative by the outpouring of support from the fans who grew up watching him and shared the ride."

"Our baseball community has lost a legend today," said Braves president John Schuerholz. "The Braves family and Braves fans everywhere will sadly miss him. Our thoughts are with his wife Paula and his children."

  1. While I certainly can appreciate the loss of Caray, and I absolutely despise the wave, I really don't get the connection between one and another.

Maybe a better tribute would be to simply continue to support the Braves. Maybe a sellout of a game or two would be a start.

  2. no. if i want to do the wave i am going to do the wave and i dont care what anyone thinks.

  3. skip wouldnt want us to stop doing the wave.

  4. Skip will be missed. I enjoyed him all those years with Braves baseball on WTBS.

As for the wave, I never participate. It was invented (supposedly) by boring fans in a boring ballpark--Kingdome in Seattle.

I think the wave is stupid.

    RIP Harry Caray, Jr. (Skip).
