  1. we learned in home ec in 7th grade

that if you have to think about it,

    dont eat it!

  2. Why not.How bad is the craving though?

  3. No it wouldn't be safe as the nuts would become rancid.

  4. nooooooo

  5. Sure - who can put an expiration date on heaven after all.

  6. heck yeah - i once ate some 2 years old - heat it up in the microwave for a few seconds to soften it up - just like new... ummmm :)

  7. No. Its expired and thats why.

If it was "best before", it might have been okay.

Youre much better off throwing it away. You dont want food poisoning, do you?

  8. I wouldn't chance it.  I'm weird about expiration dates anyway.  Nutella isn't that expensive, just go buy some more :)

  9. Um.....well test taste on someone else that DOESNT know its expired......smell it than if that someone says it tastes good and it smells good than....DIG IN!!!!! LOL glad i could help =]

  10. If it makes you happy, then why not?

just brace urself for the side-effects later.. :S

  11. eww just buy some new nutella

  12. Its expired man!!!! Try it and i'll see you on the toilet

  13. well lol no ....... how the h**l do you still have nutella expired in may 2007 LOL HEHE

  14. No.  Bad idea.

  15. Is it moldy? It probably would have been ok if it was only a week or two, but longer than a year probably means no. Just buy some more. If you really want to eat that Nutella, smell it and if it smells fine taste a SMALL amount and if it tastes fine than it is possibly ok.

  16. i would buy a new one.

anyway how can u let it expire?? i love that stuff. i can eat a whole thing like in 2 weeks!!! i always have it for breakfast?!!!

  17. NO!!!

  18. I would buy a new jar just to be safe.

    (that stuff is so good!)

  19. No..it's rancid by now

  20. well, if you want to eat food that expired over a year ago, go for it. But it would make me barf

  21. go for it unless it smells rancid.

as long as the hazelnut oil hasn't gone bad you're in the clear.

  22. Yea it will be ok.

  23. That's over a year ago and I think it's best to get rid of it. It would taste stale.

  24. haha ummmmm.....NO!!!

  25. Nope.  It's a little too far past it's expiration date...Maybe you could have eaten it last year, but now you had better just buy a new jar.

  26. Not unless you wanna get SALMONella!

  27. its shelf life is 1 year past the expiration date, IE may 2008.

  28. Interesting question. I would advise you to look carefully and smell it; your body is quite adept at telling you what is safe and what is not safe to eat. Think of your nose as a sophisticated food scanner.

I can't think of too many harmful bacteria that could grow on something containing so much sugar (and so many preservatives). Honey, for example has been shown to be edible 2,000 years later! We're very hung up on shelf-lives and use by dates in the developed world. In truth, they are often nothing more than a guide, not to mention a legal obligation.

If the jar has been properly kept, you should be fine. Eat it, but at your own risk of course.

  29. if you wanna make yourself sick then go ahead.

  30. no
