Question:

Do you think it would be wise for WCE to offer Daniel Kerr a 4 or 5 year contract?

He is holding the club to ransom demanding a 4-5 year contract - & would be happy to be traded to a "powerful" Melbourne club if such a contract was not offered. He has one year of his existing contract to run.

Taking into account Kerr's bad, on & off field, behaviour I personally hope the Eagles don't concede to his wishes. I wonder if other clubs would offer him a contract such as he wants.

  1. OMG JUDDDDDDYYYYY - give it up!!

I am a big Daniel Kerr fan. BUT I think that you are right. The Eagles should not offer him a long contract UNLESS (and this is my bit) he adheres to some pretty big behavioural conditions. I remember at the beginning of this year he made a promise that he would not get suspended this year as he needed to set a good example to the younger guys -Hasn't that worked out well!!

I would love to see him finish his career with us, let's hope they can all come to some kind of agreement

  2. No. The loss of 2 midfielders took them from premiers to second last. Even without Kerr, they can't fall much further from where they are now. If he stays out of trouble then maybe.

  3. I would say, No, not a 4-5 year contract.

Melbourne got their fingers burnt by doing similar with Shane Woewodin & Travis Johnstone. Other teams have suffered the same fate.

With Daniel Kerr, the club would be wondering from day to day what he has, or is likely to, have been up to.

  4. he doesnt really deserve a 5 year contract cause his mind is too out of place at the moment

  5. He is trying to do what Fev did and hold his club to ransom I am very disappointed in him.

Off to Melbourne for him or maybe one of the new teams will sign him.

  6. I think they really need to keep him around - i would do what ever it takes! i would prefer him to stay be a great player and guide the younger player coming into the club, with the chance of him getting into an "incident", then no to see him with us at all. His an eagle and should wear the blue and gold for the rest of his career, give him what he wants, but under guide lines!

  7. OMG DON T USE UNDERSTAND HIS COMIN G TO CARLTON TO PLAY WITH JUDD

AND THE ITS GONNA BE LIKE THE 06 MIDFEILD OF WCE

JUDD KERR GIBBS(COUSINS BUT IN BETTER VERSION)

    AND KRUZER AS COX DUH

  8. I don't think it would be the right thing for West Coast to do. Kerr is a great player, but he often struggles with injuries, so a long contract would probably not be a good idea.

  9. Absolutley! West coast should defently offer him about 5 years or around there, he is only 25 and has about 7 or so years left in him so to give him a year or two years contract would be so silly, the eagles need him in their young midfield (not that the midfield is doing so bad, with power forward quinten lynch doing extreemely well and dean cox doing well, along with youngsters mcnamara, davis, houlihan, sphanger etc. along with priddis and stenglien) but he is the leader of the midfield that always puts his body on the line, he is like a judd or a cousins and the eagles just need him for the lonest amount of time they can get!

  10. **I don't think that would be a very smart move for any club to make for any player.

So many things can happen in AFL in such a short space of time and four or five years can be a long time in footy.

If they did decide to go ahead with that kind of a contract, they'd need it stated very clearly that his contract could be terminated at any sign of trouble - maybe then he wouldn't be so keen.**
